The Tevez incident

I think you forgot the reason why he was already in the wrong frame of mind before the Munich match.

It was reported that he had been told just before the match that he wouldn't be getting his £6.3m loyalty bonus due to his second transfer request. This caused him to tell Mancini that he wasn't right/fit to play. Mancini was furious, and told him he was fit to play so was playing. Mancini had planned to start him, but this earlier row ended up with Mancini putting him on the bench instead. Mancini did have a bust up with Dzeko, which spilled over to Tevez. Tevez then decided that he'd had enough. Therefore in the post match interview, he correctly stated "i didn't feel right/my head wasn't right to play, so didn't".

This then lead to him hopping off home. It wasn't the Mancini row, it was losing £6.3m...

Sick of this tevez distraction - reserves till the end of the season the sell - disgraced the club so let not the club sink to his level

This will probably get really long, but I felt that I should share my thoughts here in the forum, what with all the Tevez talk recently. If you couldn't be bothered, then skip to the last paragraph then.

Firstly, I love Tevez as a player but as a personality, he comes across as a disrespectful person. There are too many incidents that made me grow a distaste towards his character, off the top of my head:

1) Obviously, transfer request, after what Mancini has done for him.
2) FA Cup, remember fans putting scarves on him, only for him to throw it on some random bloke?

And of course, now that he's "back", I see many people throw revolting comments at the thought of him in a City shirt. However, only a handful tried to see the perspective in Tevez's defense.

This is what I think is probably his personal recount:

In short, here's his story:

1) He was warming up.
2) Dzeko was brought off.
3) Dzeko rages at Mancini.
4) Mancini rages at Dzeko.
5) Tevez stopped warming up.
6) Mancini tells him to go back and warm up, while raging.
7) Tevez finds it disrespectful, refuses to warm up.

Simple story of pride and emotional exchanges, really.

I back Mancini, I love Mancini, I worship Mancini. However, I believe Tevez.

Mancini is a man who can get very emotional at times.
Tevez is a man who is very prideful.

Take example, Mancini rages at Balotelli (vs L.A. Galaxy) for 'disrespecting' the opponent. But from the body language, Balotelli obviously backheeled the ball at leisure claiming he heard the offside whistle.

So, Mancini is a man who can be quick to judge, and things did not help when he shares a fragile relationship with Tevez. It certainly didn't help the situation when he is blowing his top at Dzeko and had to converse with Tevez.

To make my point, I believe Tevez should be given a chance to redeem himself with us. In a way, he's a man (probably) misunderstood, or not. But if he's here to help, then I would gladly have him in the team. I understand the pain of re-accepting Tevez. He was my hero too. And the pain hurts more when your hero walks out on you in a crucial situation. But like I said, I would give him a second chance.

I understand if I may not made a point and I'm long-winded. My apologies is so.

Cheers.

You are having a crisis of conscience. Do you applaud Tevez's return to the pitch? Do you joyously celebrate if he scores? Do you boo? Or do you just ignore?

Trust me, if Tevez plays any significant role in the remainder of the season (unlikely) most City fans will find a way to overlook their hypocrisy, including myself. I want the title and, if he can make a contribution, then so be it.

You shouldn't worry yourself. Your articulate and objective analysis of Tevezgate is, to be fair, pointless and a little bleeding-heart liberal. In this instance our desire to be Champions usurps our morals. We'll get over it. You should too.

the OP sounds young by name and nature to me. Tevez had the hump going into that game, no doubt about it. Mancini shouting at Dzeko should have nothing to do with it. He was sulking, he's a greedy selfish ****, Mancini is the boss.

What was his comment when he heard that we'd been knocked out of the Champions League?

If he gets a game he'll get my support though, not as Carlos Tevez but as a City player.

Won't be sorry to Tevez the person go, shame about Tevez the player.
