Yes but they play the early game on the Sunday then the late game on the Tuesday whereas other teams hwo play Sunday/Tuesday get less rest
Fair enough but the key factor is just two nights’ sleep between games. That’s the thing that anyone connected with players’ wellbeing gets stressed over and why with the exception of the Christmas programme, you’ll never see teams playing Sunday followed by Tuesday irrespective of kickoff times. Same reason as Thursday night teams never play on Saturday.
We’ve been treated badly regarding this over previous festive seasons so it’s nice to see our rivals having to deal with it this year.

What’s the max number of points we can get this season now, anyone worked that out?

We’ve just won 8 on the spin I think? I can easily see us right now being in the middle of one of those long runs of wins.

We played shite against Newcastle and still absolutely smashed them to pieces.

If we were to win all our remaining games, we’d finish the season with 104 points.

When Pellegrini kicked off about a Sunday evening away in the FA Cup before an away CL tie on the Tuesday, and played a severely weakened team, he was roundly pilloried by the media

We can 104 points winning every game but you look at points dropped after 18 games is 10 points and say even if we lose our next game and make it 13 points dropped after 19 games replicate that after another 19 games means dropping 26 points out of 114 points available from 38 games means we on for 88

I’m being absurdly optimistic here but if results go very much in our favour and we can open up a 7or 8 point gap in the next week I would get as much pleasure from potentially ruining Sky’s moronic claims about what an exciting 3 way title shootout this is as I would from us being atop the league.

Liverpool are on course to 88 pts, but their fixtures in the 2nd half of the season are more difficult than in the 1st, which combined with knock-out games in the CL and FA Cup games may make it very difficult for them to get to 88 pts. Chelsea have easier fixtures, but not much easier.

So, 88 pts are highly likely to be enough for the title, possibly even 86.

Depends if Klipperty keeps playing the same 11, they will burn out. Although that relies on the inhaler supply not running out. I think 90 will be more than enough. Maybe get Steve Mcmanamanem out of retirement, hes good for a few extra points

And drawing with Huddersfield at home was just weird.
I won £220 from that 0-0 draw with Huddersfield backed it for a tenner @ 22/1, so it was happy days for me, anyway finishing on exactly 100 points, like Pep said “ 50 points at home 50 points away” was symbolic

I think itll be 88-92, that sort of zone. Depends how liverpool go really, my feeling is they will drop points in Jan/Feb they always do pretty badly at that point in the season.
