No guarantee we will win the league or come good, but based on the way we approach season and our past history, I'm confident we will improve come the new year and be there or thereabouts.

Its not about entitlement it's about belief in the manager and the players we have. It won't always be this way but with Pep in charge I'm always confident he will have us competing and winning. We're not playing as badly now as we were at spells last season IMO. I remember from the Liverpool away game last October until about Feb this year we were bloody awful at times.

Oh I believe in pep and the players but the players over the last 4/5 years have hit the heights every season playing 50/60+ games players might just not have that energy as previous seasons

That will only relate to some of the squad due to the turnover of personnel, but I totally get what you mean.

Compared to last year:

-3 Arsenal
-2 Chelsea
-3 Wolves
-2 Liverpool
-2 Spurs
+3 United
So -9 points on last season

Potential games to pick up points from where we dropped last season:

+2 Villa a
+2 Newcastle a
+3 Liverpool a
+2 Brighton a
+3 Spurs a
+3 Brentford H
+3 Brentford a
+2 Forest a
+2 Everton h

So +22 points to go at there and if we pick up 9 points from the 22 points AND win every other game we end up on 89 points again which should be enough. Hopefully.

Edit: Just seen the spuds result ahsn;t been updated on the 23/24 table below

Even if Arsenal and Liverpool win 6-7 from the next 8 games in the league, I'll be thinking they won't be able to go above 86 pts. They'll hit the wall at some point, whether in February or March or April. Arsenal fans will think it will be different this season (Rice, etc.). Chances are they will win about as many points as last season. Liverpool will finish with much more points than last season, but not with 20+ more points.

Imo, 86 pts win the league, provided your GD is the best. And, imo, only injuries could stop City from getting to 86 pts and having the best GD, even if we lost tonight.

Will be difficult, can see us winning the title by 1-2 pts or on GD.

Step by step. Lets see where we are at 4pm on Sunday for starters.

Hope so but think we need important players to stay fit and the ones we bought to come good plus I feel we need one top quality player in January
Yes one top player in would be good, but there won’t be many available and it needs to be the right one, If the right one isn’t available until the summer we are better waiting.

If you look at our last 8 league games (including tonight) we've had arsenal, united, villa and chelsea away and spurs, brighton and liverpool at home. Thats an incredibly tough run when we are also missing the best player in the PL for that whole period and a host of other injuries / suspensions that are really impacting us. Things will look much better by Dec 31st i'm sure and post winter break we will be in a great position.
