This is not really connected to this title run in but hope okay in posting here.

Can anyone tell me the last couple of times the title went to the last game and the team in second/third place won it?

The last one Liverpool v Arsenal 1989. I think.

I can't remember any others since I started watching City in the early 80's. Wasn't there a controversy with Leeds and an off side goal..?

What about when Man United drew 0-0 with West Ham? Might have been the year Blackburn won it?

Blackburn lost that day whilst United drew so Utd must have been behind them at the start of the day.

As someone else mentioned that was 95. Blackburn lost at Anfield while Utd would have won it at West Ham but could only draw.

It certainly shows that the title race will probably go to the last day. Away at a Spurs team who may a win to secure 4th place - not easy but would be so satisfying.

That game won't be on the last day. They have to schedule it before the last day.

Perhaps - but Arsenal mostly had easy games in that run, whereas they have almost all tough ones from now on.

They're in good form, with results at City, and they beat Liverpool at the Emirates, but they also only just scraped past Porto, and I would be surprised if they finished the season without dropping points in a couple of games.

ps. In all comps, Arsenal have won just 12 of their last 20, and lost 5 of them. We've won 16 and drawn 4.

Fascinating to read all the differing views on here , I’m sat here changing my mind every minute.

In a nutshell - City are the tried and tested class act, Arsenal the on fire form team and the dippers have the least arduous set of fixtures ahead of them.

Exciting times to be sure but personally now I’m knocking on a bit I prefer the warm satisfaction of happily looking forward to the parade with us 10 points clear at the top
