Liverpool supporter here who is coming in peace. History shows the only way to beat prime Peps Manchester City to a title is to blow out to a huge lead and break their spirit in the first half of the season. If it comes down to the run in then forget about it.

It looks like Slot is trying to adopt that same approach that Klopps team did to win the title and if we do win at Anfield then I think even you guys would agree we will be well on our way.

Despite bridgeno1 constant ramblings I think Arsenal are pretenders. They don’t have the bravery in big matches to fire themselves to a league title.
How fucking smart of him trying to win every game in the first half of the season, don't know why no manager has thought of doing that before.

I think it was the first challenge on Rodri 40 seconds in did him - he took a heavy knock in the back of the leg probably before being properly warm really - I said at the time - that's a bad one - I don't think he shook that deliberate targeted foul off - a bad ACL players don't always come back from. I never moan at oppo's but i thought that tactic was nasty and deliberate - so it proved
It was and nothing was made of it, similarly like there was no VAr review for the foul on Ake/Akanji( sorry can't recall which player) in the penalty area that was totally ignored in the melee and injury to Rodri. That was blatant as well. Watch it back if you get chance. #stillseething

He hasn’t been well balanced and fair at all. He is a suck up who is constantly taking cheap shots at liverpool while pandering for approval and validation from any city poster who will give it to him.

This post might upset a few like yourself but there will definitely be a lot of people who agree with me and are sick of his antics.
He's been on here 15 months and in that time has made over 1900 posts with over 2900 likes so I was correct in saying he's well balanced and fair. And what's wrong with him taking cheap shots at Liverpool? I can't fault him because he us and many thousands of opposition fans hate Liverpool, and some of us hate them more than united, and that's saying something!

You've turned up today (like a bad smell) using his username, WTF is that all about?

I reckon you're a WUM City fan using a secondary account and I think I know who you usually post as.

Whatever, i think your card is marked, la ; )

Like fucking clockwork, here they come.

Maybe because other managers try and conserve energy across an entire season by rotating more thoroughly at this stage

Anyone who hates Liverpool more than United is a weirdo, plain and simple.

Just thought I’d throw that in there.

The last two PL campaigns have been fairly similar with a decent start followed by a rocky period with a few injuries and at least one awful performance (Spurs A 22-23 Villa A 23-24)

On both occasions it felt as though we were off the pace, but then our opponents dropped some silly points and suddenly everything clicked.

This feels like deja vu apart from the last bit.
I agree with this but feel as though we weren’t playing as poorly as this season. I still think we will find away to win it. It’s only 8 points. We come away with a point at Anfield and beat them in the reserve fixture.

Personally don’t feel Salah and VVD can keep playing this level of games. An injury to either of them and their season may implode as we’ve seen in the past.

I’ve seen major criticisms to likes of Gundogan/B Silva but they are still brilliant players and they need help OOP. Maybe likes of Wright/NOR get a chance to give us more legs in midfield.

We need likes of Foden , Savio , Doku , Grealish stepping up. We can’t rely on Haaland and the occasional Gvardiol goal as our attacking threat.

Last 14 seasons points total after 12 games and finishing position:

34 - 17/18 W11D1L0 Goals for/against: 40-7 Champions 100pts (Pep)
34 - 11/12 W11D1L0 Goals for/against: 42-11 Champions 89pts (Mancini)
32 - 18/19 W10D2L0 Goals for/against: 36-5 Champions 98pts (Pep)
29 - 22/23 W9D2L01 Goals for/against: 37-11 Champions 89pts (Pep)
28 - 23/24 W9D1L2 Goals for/against: 32-12 Champions 91pts (Pep)
28 - 12/13 W8D4L0 Goals for/against: 25-10 2nd 79pts (Mancini)
27 - 16/17 W8D3L1 Goals for/against: 27-11 3rd 78pts (Pep)
26 - 21/22 W8D2L2 Goals for/against: 25-6 Champions 93pts (Pep)
26 - 15/16 W8D2L2 Goals for/against: 26-9 4th 66pts (Pellegrini)
25 - 19/20 W8D1L3 Goals for/against: 35-13 2nd 81pts (Pep)
24 - 14/15 W7D3L2 Goals for/against: 24-13 2nd 79pts (Pellegrini)
23 - 24/25 W7D2L3 Goals for/against: 22-17 ?????
22 - 13/14 W8D4L0 Goals for/against: 25-10 Champions 86pts (Pellegrini)
20 - 20/21 W5D5L2 Goals for/against: 18-12 Champions 86pts (Pep)

So at the 12 game point in the last 14 seasons:
  • worst goal difference
  • worst defensive record
  • 2nd worst attacking record
  • 3rd worst points total
With all the well documented problems it's obviously highly improbable we will win the title this season.
But I for one will retain hope for now. Look at our abject start to 20/21 when we were also 8 points behind Liverpool after we'd played 12 games albeit with a game in hand.

Who knows it would be typical City to go and win at Anfield in front of a crowd when we least expect it :)
