How many points to win the league?

We’ll win the league. Nothing is won in November and once we sort ourselves out - and Pep finds a tactic that nobody can play against (because they’re not used to it) - we’ll go on a run. 2020/2021 style.

We seem to have an aura over teams we’re in a race with and if we put a few wins together, it’ll feel inevitable.

The reality is that Rodri is irreplaceable and Pep won't find a tactic that can fully compensate for his absence. Gundo is 34, Kova 31, Bernie 30 and Lewis 20. Even a magician can't make from these options a solid midfield capable of winning us many games in a row. They are good players, but lack legs and physicality.

IF we beat Liverpool next week I will be more hopeful. But tactical innovations won't do if many players don't improve, starting with Foden who is very average now.

If, and it's a big if these days, we bring in solid reinforcements in January, we might have a shot of getting back into it, but the reality is we might just be too far off the pace by then.

we went to Anfield multiple times in levels better form than current form and shit the bed almost all the time. with current form, it could be 3-0 in first half worry is we are not gonna have much control of the game. their midfield is more physical than others and thats what our current midfield of Lewis/Gundo will not like at all. Salah, Diaz to go up against Walker and Gvardiol, another few potential mistakes in them. but right now our defence and the lack of help they get they can make flop Nunez look like Van Basten or Shearer in their prime.

We aren’t in it. Even if everyone gets back fit and starts playing well, our midfield isn’t good enough.

Am I the only one who is ok with that?

This team pep assembled has won 6 PL titles in 7 years and 4 in a row. I can live with a fallow year.

I never dreamed we’d be so dominant and it can’t go on forever. Take this year as a bit of a rebuild, let Rico, Savinho, Doku, Gvardiol, Foden & Haaland come to the forefront and be the leaders of the team and then Pep can bring in replacements for the 30+ year olds and try and win another 2 before he leaves, with a young team with plenty of years left to carry on his legacy.

Of the realistic options I’d rather Chelsea win if we can’t, but I don’t even care that it’s Liverpool *that* much. Nothing is going to be more annoying than 2020 and Slot is nowhere near as aggravating as Klopp. I’m happy for Arsenal to keep extending their 20 years without a title streak.

I think we'll finish third this season. Or lower if we get a significant points deduction. Can you imagine how funny it'll be if the one season we get the points reduction is the one we're off the pace!
