Evening Blues,

Now I've trawled the internet far and wide but apart from the 4-1 win against Spurs at Maine Road in December 1967 and obviously the final day in 68 at St James Park are these the only times the cameras watched us during that season?

If so that is incredible - we must have had the least coverage of any teams going for the title that season.

If I remember correctly the only time the MoD cameras were at Maine Road was for the ballet on ice, and they covered the away games at Arsenal (we lost 1-0) and Leeds (we lost 2-0). This was the lowest coverage on MoD apart from WBA, who were also covered three times - though coverage of the cup final (which they won) meant they were on the BBC four times! Granada covered other games, but United and Liverpool were, of course, first choice on that channel too. The BBC showed highlights of eight Utd games, Liverpool and Leeds were covered a similar number of times and the London clubs also figured prominently.

For the Spurs game I couldn`t be arsed standing up in the Kippax so I sat in the Platt Lane seats.Never thought the game would finish as the snow was that bad but in 50+ years of watching the boys, this was as good I have seen from any other English club.
That day was Neil Youngs finest IMO but he wasn`t alone.
A wonderful team was just being born at that time and I was so lucky in watching it all unfold.

Do you remember the episode of coronation street filmed from Maine Rd that season, about 6 of the cast cheering city on at the 6-0 win v Leicester.I remember Annie Walker Len Fairclough Stan and Hilda and also Lucy Hewit I think her name was.Fantastic season and I only missed 2 league games from the 42 played.
