So we’ve established we aren’t in a title race this season, and we’re only two or three wins away from avoiding relegation. Therefore, the aim for this season is to finish in the Top 4.

As things stand, as low as 12th in the league are only three wins away from 4th place. With us being just four points off 4th, currently.

If we weren’t playing well but were only four points off the top of the league, we’d be confident of still winning the title. Yet we’re up against teams who are going to drop a hell of a lot more points than teams we’ve had title run-ins with, so this is a different type of race, but one where’s there’s no reason why we can’t achieve it.

Well we’re obviously not winning the title this year
But we have a good run for games coming up that we need to find some form and maybe add a couple of players
Everton, Leicester, Salford, West Ham, Ipswich and Brentford
Find a bit of confidence and we might have a chance

With so many teams being of a similar level there's going to be lots of clubs who will go WLWLWL.

IF we can regain some form and put something like one of our usual runs together we'll easily still make the top four.

Perfectly achievable for us. Equally, we are perfectly capable of failing.
It's not over until it's over. We have a great tradition of clawing our way back from the most unlikely of circumstances and we shouldn't give up hope. Of course it's sensible to be realistic and accept we are not the team we were and we are unlikely to be as good again without some very effective changes.

What is done is done. The future starts with Everton. Bring it on.

Who'd have thought this would be the situation before Xmas? I didn't admittedly. Not the end of the world obviously, but let's get back on track to some degree starting against Everton.

Sounds obvious but we need to start by winning the next three. Everton, Leicester and West Ham should be 9 points all day long, even in our current form, no excuses.

After that it's all about January. I would argue we've signed just two players in the last 5 years who have improved the first 11(Haaland and Dias). Now we need 3 in one window. Though its easier to improve a struggling team than a successful one, but this is January, a difficult time to buy top players.

It literally could go either way from here.

There will be NO elite signings in January !!

If we can get the players back and Pep can find a way to get Haaland more involved we are well capable of competing with Newcastle, Spurs (yes spurs), Bournemouth, and Villa for 4th and Europa league/conference.

Better form will depend on whether Pep is able to change the way we play. Right now teams have us sussed going forward, we’re physically weak and our defence is flaky.
