The Tottenham Thread 12/13

DaveTheYid, you typify the deranged disconnect there is between your expectations and Spud realities. Before Christmas, the tin foil hats come out and every throw-in you win is treated as evidence of a title chasing charge. Then after Christmas, you move seamlessly to "our squad are a bunch of spineless chokers and we'll never amount to anything" mode. The Typical Spuds Brigade are worse than the Typical City Brigade for this sort of thing. But we exorcised all that crap by winning things an they need to do likewise.

Unless some Sheikh comes along and/or you build a new stadium with a bigger capacity, your seasons will always end in mashed spuds.

He's an Arsenal fan masked as a Spurs fan to make Spurs fans seem deluded. Dunno why he'd come on here, but hey ho.

Starting to think this myself.

Exactly. WTF do we care?

Thought the same myself personally. Seems a bit OTT and deliberate.

Happy with the dembele signing so I hope he does well. Seems to have a lot of strength and likes to get forward from midfield. Strikers are still an issue, I like to see couibally(sp) get a chance at some point

Haaaahahahahahhahahahahahahahah, Spurs gave Defoe another contract.

Unless Levy is about to flog him and he then has a long contract to bargain with to get the best price.

Defoe is good 3rd choice striker with Ade 2nd and Falcao/Llorente as first choice.

I'll attempt genuine dialogue with you here Dave (wish me luck ladies and gents).

Defoe is a decent 3rd-4th choice but wasn't he moaning about first team footy ?

Out of the q for Levy to give it him in preparation for a January sale maybe ?

Remember, never leave us Dave, your posts are classic bud.

Signing Lloris too, so there goes most of our fans' main criticism that they have an ageing goalkeeper. All of a sudden, Spurs have a very good squad. If they sign another striker too, and they put a bid in for Remy, I would probably make them favourites for fourth.

On paper their 1st team/squad is good enough now to be challenging for 1st place IF they can get over their permanent bottling when playing the big teams and their annual end of season slump.

Whether VB is the guy to take them into title contention remains to be seen also.......

The Lloris deal apparently has fallen through. They won't be getting Willian or Moutinho either. 5th/6th for Spurs this year.

Sorry to sound harsh but i hope it all goes tits up for them in regard to signings. I hope they have to pay full market value and get cut no slack. No late loans, no last minute bargains, nothing!

Champagne taste on a Shandy budget, they can whistle.
Always want something for nothing and then want top dollar the opposite scenario. Good business practise but when they have the cheek to bemoan fallen through deals, blatant tapping up via Harry and his pc's. I wanted ???, ''T'riffic player, City blew us out the water, football gone mad, that's the way it is.''. Bollocks to them, hope they finish below The Toon :)

-- Thu Aug 30, 2012 11:30 pm --

According to a leading Journo they agreed 14m euro for him, keep Lyon waiting and then offered 10m recently after making Lyon waiting by using Modric as an excuse. Agreed a deal with Hamburg for 10m euro for VDV, and then after agreeing now hit them with a new 18m price which was refused, the deal died and Spurs got in touch saying 16m.

Spurs deny they made an offer for Remy but President of Marseille (I think) said they have made an offer.

More dodgy stuff.

Tomorrow's a big day for Spurs fans.

Expecting Lloris to be done.
Hoping for Willian and Moutinho.

I am unsure on Lloris but both Moutinho or Willan will be a good bit of business for Spurs. Still need an extra striker though.

The Lloris deal will go through. Moutinho is the one AVB wants most but unless Porto lower their asking price we won't be getting him. Same for Willian. I think we could get Remy though. He's someone Daniel Levy wants.

My guess is we'll get Remy and Lloris in tomorrow, and possibly Moutinho but things can change quickly.
