I think once we beat Arsenal on Sunday.

People will take us seriously as title contenders.

Did you not beat Arsenal last season? No one took you as contenders then. Will be no different now, especially after three games. The first two you have yet to score from open play IIRC

Spurs beat Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City last season.

Generally, we gave as good as we got against the other top clubs.

And if we do manage to beat Arsenal again on Sunday, Spurs will be seven points better-off than the same stage last season.

technically Gareth Bale beat Arsenal, rags and City last season

I still think we can challenge for 2nd/3rd without Bale as If you look at the spine of our side when compared to City for example, I personally believe we have the edge.

Lloris or Hart = Lloris

Vertonghen or Kompany = Vertonghen

Paulinho or Yaya Toure = Draw

Lamela or David Silva = Draw

Soldado or Aguero = Draw

Wibble

This is my team to line up at the Emirates on Sunday.

GK: Lloris

RB: Walker
CB: Vertonghen
CB: Vlad
LB: Rose

CDM: Capoue
CM: Dembele
CM: Paulinho

RW: Lamela
ST: Soldado
LW: Sigurdsson

1-4 to Spurs with Soldado x3 and Capoue header

Apart from LW and LB... That's a near-perfect side.

looks set for walcott to run riot against that back line

You need to take a good hard long look in the mirror and then headbutt it until you pass out

You've got a problem on the right wing as well, and at centre half, can you spot what it is?

Particularly with that big hole in the middle of it next to Vertonghen.

Both games this season you have scored one in both and they were pens. Now you think you are going to go the the Emirates and score 4 and only concede one with a 3 man midfield ?

That will come as quite a surprise to Clint Dempsey, who scored Tottenham's winning goal at Old Trafford.

And Jermain Defoe, who got the winner against Manchester City.

And Aaron Lennon, who scored the winner against Arsenal.

And this is the team you just said were title contenders?

You do know that as good as this first XI is (of which only 9 currently play for you) you also need similar quality in your squad to win the league? Or are you just going down the 1960's title winning model of having 14 who play every week?

Didn't AVB turn down PSG because he was told Bale stays.....

'Villas-Boas has revealed that chairman Daniel Levy has given his word that the 23-year-old will still be at White Hart Lane next season.

"We have the pledge of the chairman that Bale is not going to leave the club," the boss told Spanish newspaper Marca.'
