we took three points off each other, end of

by the way have you got a chart or table that shows me the relative positions of Spurs, Utd and City at the end of last season?

THFC bending facts to suit his delusion, who'd have thunk it?

No, not "end of".

There's the small matter of goal difference to consider.

When push comes to shove, such apparently trivial details can mean a great deal of difference.

Not only did we finish comfortably ahead of you on points, rendering goal difference meaningless but if it did count we finished on +32 compared to your +20.

That was a good point you made.

The pressure is really on them for top 4 this season. Failing this time considering Arsenal haven't spent a penny could possibly be the bottle job of the decade. First hurdle will be the derby. Lets see what they're made of.

Shame about bale but they will piss 4th.
If they could of afforded to strengthen the way they have without selling Bale, they'd be looking at the top 3, still think their depth of squad could be a problem, but less so.

Why deluded?

Steven Caulker, another product of Tottenham's Academy, recently went for £9,000,000 after being capped just once for England.

Attacking players normally go for more than defenders.

So saying that Townsend's value will increase by £5,000,000 as a full England international is hardly deluded, is it?

In fact, it's a rather conservative estimate.

It's a load of bollocks, as is the majority of stuff you put on here. It's already been stated that you slag us off on your own forum yet still feel the need to come on here and be a dick.
If you can offer some conclusive proof that playing for England adds £5 million to your current value then in all ears - your one example with Caulker proves absolutely fuck all, apart from your ability to grab hold of straws is impressive.
I believe Matty posted some alternative players who managed a cap for England without it dramatically increasing their worth.
You carry on cherry picking your arguments though, I enjoy watching you being put right by people who follow the game and don't rely on graphs and pie charts to look like they know what's going on.

Pablo, mate, what's said is a very different matter to what's done.

I've challenged anyone to find a post of mine where I've slagged-off City on any other Forum.

Not surprisingly, no-one has been able to supply a single post.

No you just do it on here ;)

This thread is quickly catching the rag one for posts! The Spurs Minister of mis-information is doing a great propaganda job!

While we are waiting does anybody think Spurs are more of a threat to us than the rags?
No.

As much as I'd like United to fail completely they always seem to find a way to find a way to make the sum of the parts greater than the individual parts themselves. United will be top 3, as will City and Chelsea.

I really do find this interesting.

I do, i think Spurs are a big threat to everybody, sooner play the rags than Spurs
You have still not educated the waiting expectant bluemoon masses though, we have all stopped and had a think about it and we are waiting on your answer!!!!

Spurs are right in the mix for me. Utd still the team to beat as its still Fergusons team with us, Chelsea, spurs, arsenal and possibly Liverpool all chasing top 4. No guarantee this year we will get it but spurs will be right up there. Our away form of last season has to be better this year for us to remain in top 3

You cant compare head to heads over the course of the season as a bench mark. Wigan took 4 points of you last year. Does that mean they should of been a threat

Good signing...this lad can pull remarkable goals out of his arse like Bale could, be interesting to see how he handles a rainy Wednesday in Stoke...
If he has 6 fingers on each hand to hold a brolly he will be ok

Lamela and potentially Eriksen. Thats some team they have build just for selling Bale
Good players, but not worried whatsoever.

Lameka is nothing more than a highlights player.
A bit quicker Adam Johnson, if you will.

Eriksen I rate. Right balance between work horse and technique.

Those players won't get them higher than 3rd at best on a purple patch year though.

With the money coming in for Bale and other players I'm assuming the money not spent might just about cover the supposed 50 million loan from the owner.

Wherever they finish this season that's good for the money men at the club.

You have to think though why not just go for it, spend the money, keep Bale and see what happens even more so with the extra tv money this year plus whatever they'd get for CL because with Bale and the players bought in it would be an almost cert for a top 4 and a decent chance to challenge for most things for a few years. With the wealth of their owner it's not like they would do a leeds.

Sooner or later they are going to have to have a real go and up their spending and wages every season and then keep their best player along with that. You only have to look at Arsenal for a comparison of selling your best payers and trying to replace them with cheaper prospects that it just doesn't work these days apart from the CL money which this year looks like it may be even closer.

There was a real chance just like what we did for spurs to bridge the gap between them and the now top 4 and to me it looks like they are stuck between stick or twist.

If they finish 5th this season would they spend again next year, I don't think they would. It's like their billionaire owner wants to own a Trophy football club but isn't that bothered about polishing it.

I'm sure someone might come along and say football isn't all about money and winning things which is true, yet spurs are there at this point in time. Again how they are being talked up and the speculation about a new and larger stadium planned sooner or later they surely have to take the plunge and go for it, yet the spurs fans along with everyone else have been saying that for the past three seasons.

I really think with letting Bale go and not at the least hang on to him for couple of season they've made it that much harder than they could have and it may cost them more in the long run.IMO as it stands right now they should get top 4 but if Arsenal do a similar spend then I see them again scrapping for 4th when they could have put the likes of Arsenal and maybe Liverpool two steps behind them.

The spurs fans will find out next season what the men behind the scenes really want from the club, will it be scrapping it out each season for a CL place or an actual challenge for the title.

I myself see them making top 4 this year not going for it again next season and scrapping it out again when Arsenal and maybe Liverpool do a big spend. Then not loosing their top players but instead AVB.

Saying all that Bale is still a spurs player.

I think some people are getting carried away with their spending. Everyone takes note because Spurs are spending more than they usually do, and on more expensive/better players they usually sign. Lamela is a decent player, Not the finished product, nowhere near Bale's level atm.

If City signed the same players Spurs have signed, people wouldn't make much of a fuss. But good luck to them, i'd imagine that Spurs fans are happier with their summer business than they have been in previous years.

So you think having Gareth Bale makes Spurs stronger than Paulinho, Soldado, Chadli, Capoue & Lamela brought-in, Sandro & Kaboul back from injury and Rose & Townsend back from loan.

Plus whoever else Spurs sign before 2nd September (Christian Eriksen, Vlad Chiriches and perhaps a few more).

And I'm accused of being deluded!
