The Treble

Seeing as we’ve got a quadruple thread, we might as well have a treble thread. ;-)

So, I was having a bit of banter this morning with a United fan in work.

Talking about the title race, the FA Cup Final,etc.

So I said to him......

“If City win the PL title and the FA Cup, City have done the treble.”(having already won the League Cup)

He looked at me, paused, and blurted out.....

“That’s not the proper treble.”(here we go, blah, blah, blah)

Implying United’s treble was the proper treble.

I replied.

“The proper treble is the domestic treble, not the treble United won.”

To my knowledge no English club has ever done the domestic treble. I stand corrected on that.

So which treble is the legitimate treble?

The domestic treble or a treble of trophies in any combination?

Whichever one we do will be the legitimate one..... I’d settle for domestic treble that’s for sure!

The quadruple aside, it would be fantastic if City were the first club to do the domestic treble.

The real treble is the one decided by the Rags which is normally the one they have won

It doesn't matter what any other team achieves as they are the World Biggest Myth/Team in the whole world

The same can be said of the World's biggest Dippers, if they win the cups they were in for then that is the treble

Given the Community Shield as well (isn't that right, Jose?) I'd prefer to call it the domestic Grand Slam, just for the sputtering out of outrage.
