The Truth about Silva

He has literally no partner in midfield. Who is he going to play 1-2's with? De Jong? Barry? Milner? He needs a creative partner.

If Yaya was not available I would suggest Piza (instead of NDJ) We already have Milner & Barry. Nasri then could have replace Piza or Barry..

Also NDJ does not have the athletic pace or quickness to prevent rapid counterattacks by our opponents.

We have seen him been beaten numerous times with the likes of Arteta, Etherington et al let alone plaayers like the Napoli forwards or Rooney etc.

Silva & NDJ is not effective. Our strikers (Dzeko to wit ) suffer as a result.

De Jong was about our only good midfielder today but the OP uses any excuse to go off at him. The "De Jong can't pass forward" mantra will be repeated when he is the only one who played some good forward passes tonight. Milner was the real culprit tonight from the midfielders, seemed to misplace 3 out of every 5 passes he made. Silva and De Jong have played well together and can play well together. eg. They both played the Porto double header and both played well.

Though DJ was poor a few times he missed tackles or went to ground but in truth he should not be singled out

Milner plays on the wing and has a bad performance - well fuck me would not have expected that - and whilst the logical place for him would be right back instead we put our left back on the right who cant put a fookin cross Edin whom if we are honest looked little better than a Championship player

We need a talented central midfielder who can spray or make incisive passes to penetrate our strong (parking the bus) opponents or even make the judicial sideway pass (to wit Piza to Clichy to score against Bolton).
Dxeko would have benefited from these intelligent passes.

Thought he was the only one trying to do anything. We can't just fly on Dave all the time. There was little or no movement for him and when Dave found pockets of space the attack would soon break down when dzeko passed to a Lisbon player

We just got exatly the type of player you describe in David Pizarro.

fuck me we had an off game tonight, the last thing we need is another central midfielder.

calm the fuck down, it's not the league and we can easily turn the tie around.

As I posted before we need INTELLIGENT midfielders (to make creative or incisive plays) not a CM who missed tackles or going to the ground like a toppled pylon allowing our opponents to launch rapid lethal counterattacks.

Thats the notion of a HOLDING MIDFIELDER not one who always launched tackles or go to the ground taking himself most times out of the play.

Its one who can prevent rapid counterattacks or 'skilfully holding the ball in tandem with his team mates' from the opponents.

No we need to have a game plan thats fookin sensible and fits with the players and the circumstances that we find ourselves in

We needed to not lose this game - we needed to pack the midfield and we needed to play on the break

Play 4 4 2 away from home aganst a quality team whom are very techincal was the problem

We play 4 2 3 1 at home against Bolton bottom of the prem and we then play 4 4 2 against a decent team whom reached semi final last year of the Europa - that seems to me at least our down fall tonite not the lack of players - if we cant cope with the loss of Vinny or Yaya then we are fooked its that simple

Why do people start threads with 'The truth about'? It's your opinion, not the truth, whether others agree with it or not. We'd all understand what it's about if you just put 'David Silva' or 'David Silva off the boil'.

Sorry to have a slight rant.
