Yes it would have been awesome to sign Kaka but now we have £100 Million to spend on players we need, a CB, CM, GK, ST. Many are treating the Kaka deal not woring out as a failure. We managed to show the world that we can be big players in this market and that can only help in the future. Look at our wins this year

3-0 West Ham
3-0 Sunderland
6-0 Portsmouth
3-0 Stoke
3-0 Arsenal
5-1 Hull
1-0 Wigan

And in 21 Premier League games we have only failed to score 4 times. The club are now focusing on bringing in players to strengthen the quality players we have. We must focus on buying for the defence. It will be the whole team that will improve us not just one player. I think players like Bridge, De Jong and yes Bellamy will be even more beneficial to us than Kaka. I would love a Marquee signing as much as you all and maybe we will get one but I for one am glad to see that Hughes is buying to create this team ethic that we have lacked most of the season.

Good post, and even if we don't get the full £100 mill to spend, we will still get enough to address the squads weaknesses

I doubt we have £100m to spend on the squad now Kaka isn't coming. I reckon that £100m was set aside and earmarked as to be used for 'a superstar'. I'd be surprised if it was broken down into smaller chunks and used to buy 5 or 6 other players.

I agree with that

but then again we havn't got a clue how much has been set aside for the other players

As long as £40m of it is not used on a RSC bid!

lol how much do you think Sam would nick for his Chippy tea, about £10 Million

He would def double the portions, and extra ketchup!!!

Extra tubs of grease to wash it down. He's the one who has to deal with an unhappy player

apparently http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/2009/...anta-cruz-for-one-final-time-115875-21055404/

He has also recently said Speaking to Paraguayan radio station Futbol a lo Grande, Santa Cruz said: “The truth is that I do not know how much they want, actually I thought that what they were now offered, 16 million pounds, would be accepted.

“But apparently they are concerned about not finding a replacement when I go, that's I think what makes them a little to doubt them.

“I will communicate and talk to the club and the coach, they know my position, I want to go.

“They always tell me that the decisions to say no to offers, they have still not find a replacement, nor the money seems sufficient.”

The striker indicated to his home radio station in Asuncion how it could take around £20m before Rovers accepted and admitted he was not going to be the only one on City’s wanted list.

“You hear all the time that the club have asked for £20 million and I don’t know if City are going to offer that or if they are going to increase their bid,” said Santa Cruz.

“Manchester City are a team who want to buy lots of players to be in the top four next season.”
