My Dad and I were invited as Guests with Mr Thomas himself for yesterdays game, and what a day it was!
I don't know if anyone on here has been Tudor's guest in his room, but I can tell you it is an amazing room.
The whole place is a shrine to City, going back donkey's years. One of Mike Summerbee's England shirts, with mud still on it, Loads of stuff from the goat, kinky, uwe, Elano etc. all signed personally to Tudor. He's obviously really respected at the club, and rightly so. Even a certain Mr Bacon Chops himself is a great friend of his, and he has a brilliant photo of him holding a City football and looking very happy about it ha-ha!
His family were great hosts also, Steve, his Son, Dan, his grandson, Mary, his wife and Diane, Steve's wife.
So, anyway, we had a great day, got to the ground despite the treacherous conditions in very slippy shoes and nearly ending up on my rump in front of a load of Arsenal Fans, straight into the Tudor room for a pre-game pint plus buffet (which this 14 stone fat boy avoided) then out to the seats for the game, which I reckon whilst nerve wrecking at times, was one of our best performances this season. We showed proper character and bravery after the disappointment of Stamford Bridge, and I felt quite proud of the lads at the full time whistle. After the game it was back to Tudor's suite for post game drinks and food (by this point i was starving so definitely tucked in) and then home for bed as it had been one long day.
Bit of inside info is that a Certain Arab Prince was at the game yesterday, didn't see or meet him personally, but I know he was there, although why he didn't show himself I've no idea.
So basically, I'm just having a gloat at you all and trying to make you all jealous, and advise you that if you ever get chance to be a guest of Tudor Thomas, do not ever pass it up, his room will amaze you, his family will make you feel at home, and the man himself will make you feel like you really are in the presence of a legend, which is just what you are.
Talking of Legends, bumped into my new best mate again, Lakey, so hello Paul if you read this good to see you again haha

I've been in there quite a few times as guests of the Match Officials and I wouldn't really say it is as impressive as you're making out, unless of course framed shirts gets you going?

I was more impressed with the free bar and the limitless amounts of food that are served, all of excellent quality and all, I believe, from his own pocket. It's basically a room for hangers on I found, so many people in there do not even know who Tudor Thomas is, which I thought was a complete travesty to the man.

much more to it than a few framed shirts mate, its like a Museum of City!
And I don't care who else was in there, or how they got there, I really appreciated the invite
and just generally the way the whole day went.
each to their own, although I do agree if these people do hang on him, then it is a travesty.

there's always one

Anyway, sounded a great day for you and an experience that many won't have the pleasure of.

It's good to say you're one of the few, even better to get the personal treatment. Well in for all concerned.

Glad you enjoyed your day. TBH I'd never heard of Tudor Thomas until I read your post - so I've lifted the following from the O/S for anyone else like me!

Tudor Thomas
Honorary President

A loyal supporter of the club since just after the Second World War, Tudor and his wife still follow the club wherever they play. The City of Manchester Stadium holds The Tudor Room, a room where he still entertains match officials and scouts on behalf of the club, surrounded by memorabilia that he has collected in his 60 years of loyal support.

A major supporter of the academy and a prominent businessman in Stockport, Tudor has helped fundraising with the academy for many years, a role his family still proudly fulfil today.

Also Tudor Thomas was always at the forefront in organising fund-raising events for long-serving players who had testimonial seasons, especially in the 70s and 80s.

I have been in on several occasions and can only re-iterate what the OP said. Shrine to City new & old.

Goaters boots from the last derby @ Maine Road was one of my highlights. Great hospitality.

Was honoured and lucky enough to be invited Down to Tudours Room for the Burnley match with one of my mates. An absolute gentleman from start to finish, took plenty time out of his day to talk us through pretty much every picture and piece of memorabilia in his room. Nice food and a free bar before during and after the game ( enjoyed the food didint kickthe arse out the bar out of respe to the man.)
Again, just like to thank for his time, knowledge and hospitality during my visit

I was in the directors box against Dortmund 1-1. Sat behind an unemployed (at the time) Rafa. Worked for one of the CL sponsors at the time. Was decent!

The lad who started this thread passed away in 2012. One or two of you may remember his story.

Reading Danny’s old posts is quite poignant.

Very sad to read that. I didn’t clock the date at the start of this thread, thought it was a new one. I have been in the tutor room. Great memorabilia and nice of city to look after him.

Been there some time ago, great memorabaelia. Believe it was located above players tunnel ? Is it still there after the renovations?

Me too, just read it now totally agreeing with the OP about the fantastic memorabilia on the walls and spent ages looking at the pictures. Sad news.
