The turning point

Yep I think this is what did it, he probably went into the players and said look they think you’re all cheats etc show them who’s the best. Looking at that video they released last night Diaz is key, since he came back the huddles started and he’s a fucking leader, pushing us on. Love this team and club.

Certainly seemed to galvanise us and offloading Sulkcelo probably helped.

We'd beaten Arsenal in the cup just prior and then played them again at the Emirates and turned them over. I think they then started truly appreciating the beast they were up against. Our form has been relentless since and we've mentally tortured them. Dropping points in 6 out of 8 games in a title run in. I don't think I've EVER seen that before!

For me I think it was the Tottenham game. The players on the day were poor and I think that changed our season. Since then we have literally won every game apart from 1. Which happened to be Nottingham Forest away.

Arsenal were never going to keep up the momentum but they have massively improved compared to last season where they bottom of the table after 1 month with no goals scored.

Next season we should expect Liverpool to be our rival contenders again for the title.

I think there's been a few important moments that have been the catalyst for this remarkable run.
  • Rico Lewis coming in to the team and setting the blueprint for Stones.
  • Pep's 'happy flowers' speech after the win against Tottenham.
  • The Premier League charges undoubtedly galvanized everyone at the club.
  • Dias coming back in to the team.
There's plenty of other factors including the obvious one that the players simply took time to grasp the new system and how to play with a number nine again, and once it all came together we became unstoppable.
