Don't know if I would mess about with the three at the back but I know Pep will at least try it again. Absolutely criminal after the seasons they have had for Sane and Sterling to be benched. Jesus/ Kompany for me haven't done enough to change a system to shoehorn them in and drop two of our best performers. It is an option of course but I'd like to see the formation that has served us so well this season kept.

Those are the 7 best players left. Yes the 2 CBs seem excessive. But I'm going with the best players and not positions.

Gundogan and Bernardo cover all the midfield needs. Granted if you were looking to reward youth, you'd drop one if them for Diaz, Foden or Nmecha. Or specifically, you'd drop Stones. Versatility and form gives Laporte current superiority.

I'd go Sterling over Bernado but Silva is getting better every game making it a tough call at the moment.

I think we have only have 2 undroppables in our best starting 11, Ederson and Fernandinho. The rest including De Bruyne and Walker(arguable) can be alternated as we have a healthy squad balance to rotate without much of a drop in quality

If you are going to argue Debryune is dropable then so is Fernandihno.

The only significant drop off is from Eddie to Bravo. Then Debryune to anyone. Then Silva to anyone.

I kind of agree but since Stones' injury and Lamporte arriving, I'm not sure Pep knows who is the best option to partner Ottamendi at the moment. I personally thought Vinny was finished but he might be the most solid choice as it stands.

Agree. Assumption is 50m defender when fit, starts? No disrespect to Delph or Zinchenko or Danilo.

Vinny has done what he does every season, ages out, comes back and looks great and will break down. It is how it is sadly. We cannot rely on him nor should we build a team/formation around him. I don't mind Vinny playing if he is fit but I wouldn't want a back three just so he can play. It leaves two of our biggest game changers on the bench.
