Train prices are criminal these days bud.

I've started to opt for the National Express. A tenner each way. Okay so it takes an extra four hours but if you take a book, ipod and grab a back seat it's no bother.

Im figuring how much it will cost to drive there at the moment. Its not far off different. Unbelievable though especially with hotel thrown in. Glad i worked a lot of overtime last month

Was looking forward to this but I've been offered tickets to the Olympics on friday which will probably mean a wknd stopover as it seems a waste to come back the same day. Have a good time.

Megabus! Depending on where you're leaving from you can get some epic prices.

A friend of mine went from Oxford to Brussels for 8 quid return. I've even got to Leeds for £3 before from Cardiff!

I hardly ever catch trains anymore. As you said, they're a joke in terms of prices. Even with a rail card they're very pricey indeed!
