The MoD apparently took a warship through disputed waters with no intention of being provocative, but invited reporters on board to watch this lack of provocation.

I wonder if it's as much to piss off Biden as Putin.

They should have taken school kids singing Strong Britain.
 
Although the Russians are technically in the wrong, it seems fairly clear that this is a cynical attempt by our government to provide a distraction from what's going on here, whether it's Brexit fallout, delta variant origins and exponential growth, corrupt PPE contracts, NI protocol issues and numerous other things that the government want to distract us from.

Or maybe the BBC and Daily Mail will give us a list of correspondents that they have permanently deployed on every ship in the navy to prove that it's not a set up.

I'd put money on it being a stunt to look tough on Russia, while doing absolutely nothing to actually be tough on Russia and taking a ton of Russian cash on the side as usual.
