The way I see it (managerial situation)

Good, I am glad we have yet another topic about this. I mean mate, you just posted on another Hughes out topic less than 5 minutes ago.

However, your location is spot on.

If you did not wish to post anything remotely constructive in response then why post anything at all? If Ric or any other moderator was unhappy with me posting this then I wouldhave no qualms with them merging it with a similar topic, but this response was not required and could have been presented in a much more polite response than which you chose to.

Don't you think that's a shit attitude to take though Challenger1978? If the manager clearly is not good enough to fulfil his role as Manchester City manager and do the job he gets very well paid to carry out then why should we simply accept a poor manager who has relied on the good form of Robinho (who he fell out with), Elano (who he fell out with) and Ireland (who loves him) so often this season?

It's not because of Hughes tactics that we win, it's down to the players performances. Mourinho and Wenger would not only command unity simply through thier name but the players would be filled with a desire to play for them and they're just two examples, not that I necessarily want them.

If we can attract the best in the business, then why should we settle for anything less?

You've misunderstood, whats the point of sacking hughes to bring in the likes of the elephant man, dodgy hary or BFS. Well just end up in the same situation stuck in mid table. If we're going to sack Hughs we should bring in a world class manager otherwise we may as well stay as we are.

Fair points. In other words world class manager to come in or give him another season.

I'd disagree with that again and like many others would only give him until Christmas and then review the standings then.

I would think the owners have the ability to secure a 1st class manager without the interim services of the likes Redknapp et al !!

Are you having a blonde moement ? lol ;-P , the guys a **** if we can sack him now or at any time great. But only if we can get a world class manager in otherwise theres no point swapping like for like.

If i was the owner now, i'd be throwing any amount of money at a world class manger so we can get him in. Then before i'd let Hughes know i'd invite him over to the UEA and introduce him to my half brother and his cattle prod 3:-P.

Giving a manager until Christmas is the kind of simplistic Championship Manager nonsense spouted by people who think we should sign Owen on a pay-as-you-play deal, or see who the rags are signing and offer 5m more 'just to piss them off', or worry about where Kaka would play because we only need 11 starting players and Ireland might get upset.
I would hope the people running our club have the balls to make a decision and stick with it, and most of all to ignore the idiots who call in to talk shows or post their half-arsed opinions on the internet.
If they have decided that Hughes is the man then it should be for the long term. If not then make the change as soon as the season ends and stick with it for 3 years.

But what do I know, I'm just another idiot posting my half-arsed opinion on the internet...

as an outsider{ someone not privy to the boardroom decisions} i can only marvel at the info that leaks out .There is a small but tenacious group of posters that actually know what the owners want and how they are going to get it and how devastated they are not to have won the PL .I think it would be better if a lid was kept on this kind of sensitive stuff or it could fuel speculation and i dare say even stuff being made up!! On a serious note the teams performance alone cannot be the reason for so much venom directed at MH ,some have said its a rag thing a welsh thing or because he doesnt celebrate when we score ,whatever it is they certainly are willing to spend hours and hours posting on here .Long may it continue ,it passes the time and is essentially pointless {was going to say harmless but i imagine some BMers have dodgy blood pressure and some of the rants get a bit hysterical} .Still on the fence , part of the silent majority

it's not a rag thing, it's not a welsh thing.

he's come in all guns blazing from the start, giving it the big 'i am gonna show everyone whats what', made controversial decisions, rubbed people up the wrong way, and hasnt, as far as any of us can tell, delivered when it matters.

If it seems hysterical it's partly the way these debates go, people start accusing each other of being negative, childish, impatient, rash, and so on.

personally, like many others, i thought he would be a good appointment, i defended him against my better judgement again and again, so when i finally gave up, i also felt let down by the guy, a bit angry that i'd wasted my words on someone who I just dont think deserves them. it's our club, the vessel for our dreams and our identity. it represents us, we represent it.

if you dont like someone, think they reflect badly upon the club, and as far as it goes, you, emotions will always show when the topic arises.

I have listed numerous reasons why he should go but in the end it boils down to one thing. It’s not because he is Welsh or an ex red it’s because he does not deliver, end of story. Take his claim (back in August 2008) to always have one of the fittest teams in the league capable of playing 90 minutes plus. You tell me if you think all of our squad look fully fit and I don’t mean those carrying injuries. So often in the last 20 minutes we look as though we are about to fall apart. He has had all season to sort out fitness levels and he has not done it.
