The Willy post game thread (merged)

Just wonder how many people saw Willy play for Malaga? I saw him a few times and he looked good; which is why a certain former Malaga manager brougt him to the club. He got off to a bad start at City and has struggled to recover from it and probably needed the kind of run of games he was never going to get; or a cup final ;-)

Still buzzin' for him...

After all that has been written and said, not just on blue moon but over the media as well, Pellers and Willie are vindicated. I salute them both and am happy to admit that I was wrong. Willie has written himself into the fabric of our proud history. Nicky, now Willie!!

Hahahha David James failed to give Willy any credit because he was a yard off his line. Come off it, Minge did the same just he never saved them.

Thank you willy for your contribution yesterday. It doesn't make you a great keeper I'm afraid but your reaction like navas' says a lot about you and how much city means to you. Hard not to enjoy that as a fan.

You will want to review that....it shouldn't take long if your counting Willy inners though. I made it 4 on here before the game with about 18,000 against.

They'll be the ones who got Thatcher in but who never voted for her if you ask and the last EU referendum was 2-1 inners but find those inners now!!! Willy Caballero - City Legend and not Leg-End! His place in the hall of fame is secured - Quinn out Willy in!!

Sorry Willy
I'm now a bit full what with all the beer, dodgy pizza and my own hat eaten. Not backtracking or anything but willy did save a penalty in the first game I remember him playing and last weekend too, great saves yesterday, hats off to him (if you still have one)

Man i'm so fucking happy for him, i can't express in words. It's made me more emotional now than in some of our previous, bigger trophy wins. What a guy, get the fuck in.

I saw that part and he was giving him every credit. And he explicitly said he did and would do the same thing.

I said Hart should have played and he is still our best keeper. Would he have saved any pens yesterday, who knows, who cares. Get in Willy, well played...

I'm one of plenty eating a huge slice of humble pie over Mr Caballero.
I slated Pellegrini for even contemplating playing him over Hart in a cup final. It worked and I couldn't be happier for both Pellegrini and Willy. It's good to know that in this era of football that good decent men can still be found and not only that but be winners too.
Willy won't go down as one of City's best ever keepers but he's done something just as important...............He has won the hearts of the fans.

A word for Hart yesterday also, Class act from him, no moans and seemed genuinely made up for Willy.

So Pellegrini's been vindicated not only to start Caballero in the final but for resting the first team vs Chelsea.

Two huge wins in the space of 4 days.

Very happy for Willy Caballero.
In one of his tearful pitch side interviews he stated:

"This is for my family"
"This is for Argentina"
"It is my first trophy in 16 years"

The affection towards him on the pitch by Joe Hart and the whole squad was a joy to watch.
The charming manager will rightly be remembered for his honesty and integrity and thoroughly deserves the respect of all in the footballing profession.
I am so proud to be a lifelong member of the City family (first game 1959, 8 years old)
Our current owner and management have given us all such a bright future to look forward to.
Happy days Together.

we def need it.
we all def need to get behind our club and players, all of em.Well played Willy!
This was a separate thread, started just after the game ended, that was just having a go at other Blues, because some fans prefer to do that than celebrate a cup win. A lot of us made fools of ourselves over the selection of Willy for yesterday's game but he's never really shown us that sort of form before so it's quite understandable. Absolutely delighted for him and he was so emotional - you could see what it meant. It's a great memory for him and for us.
