Just finished season 3. Out-fuckin-standing ! everbody needs to see this by far the best that television is capable of, hard to watch some times but ultimatly it makes you think. That what broadcasters should be doing , fuck youe big brothers. This is where it's at mother fucker !

i concur - best TV in a long time - be aware to take off two weeks of your life and watch all 5 seasons straight. its the only way to do it.

I have the first season on DVD waiting to be watched, finishing the West Wing first though.

fook me i miss west wing... that was really a quality serie... never missed an episode and glued to tv before i found i i could download the whole serie... hahaha

Yeah my friend has all the boxsets, so i just borrowed them off him, on the last season now, but i've slowed down the rate i'm watching them because i don't want to finish it. Watched the first 5 seasons in record time though.

The Wire is absolutely the best programme ever made though series 5 was a bit of a let down compared to the others series (particularly series 2) but still far better than anything else out there. Omar is defo my favourite character. Ya'll feel me!

just bought David Simon's book " Homicide - A Year On The Killing Streets" which is the book that inspired both that series and ultimately The Wire

Just got that book myself.Can't speak highly enough of the tv show,may seem a bit dated now,but i can imagine in it's day it would be pertty groundbreaking.

just finished season 1 myself after being nagged to watch it and am hooked. just ordered 2 and 3 from amazon, thinking about pulling a sicky if they come tomorrow morning and watch them back to back.

the only way to watch them is back to back.........I envy you....you still have so much to look forward to......all I have is a re showing of all five seasons....it is simply the best TV show ever (tm).....along with family Guy and Curb of course.

We're just watching back to back episodes of The Shield Season.....having a break for food...then episode 10....then maybe a couple of season 7......

Also look out for Generation Kill.....
