The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

Played about 15 hours now.

The loading time issue resolved itself when after I turned off the PS4.

I've still not even clapped eyes upon Novigrad yet as I've not ventured that far north.

I'm playing on the highest difficulty as I'm going for the Platinum Trophy so I've just been grinding mainly.

It's a real beaut of a game though.

Played a few hours and it's fucking great. Graphics are amazing, combat is satisfying and not boring, story has been good so far with some hilarious dialogue. I've barely even scratched the surface and looks like it could take weeks to even finish half the game.

Just doing the bloody baron quest now. The Velen map is huge. There is so much to do its ridiculous but none of it feels like it filler. It's all satisfying

I put of going to Velen I want to clear the first map with all side mission first and it will make me stronger when moving on..

I did everything in white orchard first. Took about 8 hours and got to level 5

Just reached level 11 after completing the Baron's family matters mission fully. It's so hard to stick to 1 mission at a time, it's just so tempting to wander off the beaten path and explore. I love how every single side mission is so well done. They have a great story to them and are not simple fetch quest missions like in most of rpg games. Also, Gwent! It's ridiculously addictive. I spent about 3 hours yesterday just running around playing various different people at gwent to get unique cards from them and build my deck. There's a full game in itself there. There's some good games due out this year but this is game of the year hands down.

I think the Botchling is the most fucked up thing i've ever seen in a game.
I'm on the hardest difficultly and for some reason that part of the Family Matters quest is stupidly difficult.

I chose the option where you fight about 15 wraiths and they just battered me for ages.

After that though you start leveling up quicker and getting better gear.

There is a money glitch in Novigrad. Go to the main square and one of the merchants sell shells and seashells for around 8 and 14 gold each. Buy as many as you can. Then go to the armourer next door and get him to dismantle them into pearls. White pearl is about 100 and a black pearl os about 150. Sell them straight back to the armourer for a tidy profit he has about 2000 gold. Meditate for 2 days and the merchants stock will be replenished and the armourer will have his coin back. Rinse and repeat. I got 12000 gold and can buy some really cool stuff although I'm not at the level of the stuff yet so I cant use it

Can confirm this works on Consoles. Won't work on PC as the vendor doesn't sell the shells.

Also to avoid meditating for 2 days you can simply sell the pearls to the loan shark in Novigrad who's money replenishes instantly every time you back out of the shop menu.

Made 50k in about 20 mins.

This is where I found out about the glitch in case anyone wants further info:

I'm in Novigrad now, got to level 10, but is it just me or do you never find any gear drops?

The gear is crap compared to what you can craft. Google and have a look at the Feline Armor if you prefer light weight armour. You can upgrade it 3 times to Master crafted Feline Armor which is very strong and gives a massive boost in damage given. Ursine is the best armor but it's a heavy set.

Got myself a PS4 a few days back and sunk a few hours into this as it came with the console. Can appreciate it is not a bad game at all certainly lots of dialogue and back story (I did play the first Witcher game but not the second), the world does seem really alive with people and life going on. I do like the feature to track and uncover more about various monsters to increase your own knowledge and be better prepared in battle, and the fluidity of Geralt's movements in battle make it great to watch, especially when you finish an opponent by slicing them in two.

But, I'm not absorbed by it yet. I can't say it has stunned me graphically, sure its pretty but I can't honestly say it looks miles better than GTA IV or Skyrim on PS3, and the open world concept as seen in Skyrim will not be beaten easily, at least for me. I've not yet stood on a cliff edge and just looked around for some minutes, like I found myself doing often in Skyrim.

Maybe a few of you can give me some tips on what I'm missing? I've done the tutorial section in White Orchard, a few other side questions like the Noonwraith, and moved on to Velen and done a few there too, only about level 5 though. Do I go back to White Orchard and do more there, and what skills are the best to invest in? Alchemy or crafting or strength / swordplay? Also, do I just go after those unknown white ? markers one by one or i that asking for trouble at such an early stage in the game? (have one quest but marked as level 23 recommended, tracked the beast to a cave in Velen and it looks like it might be pretty huge, cyclops maybe?)
