There's only one Lee Jackson

Re: There's only on Lee Jackson

Watched them working on the pitch whilst queuing yesterday. It really does look as good as at the start of the season. Although I did feel a tinge of nostalgia for 1970's mudbaths!

Mike Summerbee told me a couple of years ago that not long after our owners took over and were at the stadium, they saw the contraption that gives artificial sunlight to the pitch and is automated, and asked why we only had the one. When told it was because they were incredibly expensive they just shrugged and said order another 6 or something very close to this anyway.

You may not be able to buy love, but you can certainly buy everything else, best pitch, best squad and hopefully best trophy cabinet very soon.

Not to take anything away from Lee by the way, and even something like a best pitch award makes me feel proud, keep up the fantastic work.

The Sheik - A million pounds each? A million pounds. Pah - get another one, no two no make that six. Is that enough Lee? Do you want more? PM me on Bluemoon and I'll get you more if you want.
Brilliant.

Anyone know why they stopped the patterns?

Re: There's only on Lee Jackson

Excellent news and a great reward for Lee and the whole of the groundstaff team!!

Football is one of the harshest sports for turf pitches and to have our pitch in such an amazing condition is a fantastic achievement.

I'm sure Lee has more financial backing than most football Head Groundsmen but it still takes an amazing amount of technical knowledge and hard work to produce a pitch like ours.

In the words of Sir Andy Gray - 'take a bow son!!!'

Re: There's only on Lee Jackson

Congrats to Lee and his team.

Given the winter we have just had it's an even better achievement...and you have to say it looked the Dogs on Sunday...could have held the snooker final on it!!

Lee thoroughly deserves this and is a real star. He is a dedicated Blue who is passionate about the Club and about his pitch. Anyone who watched the film Blue Moon Rising will have seen him make a great comment about paying bills during the dark days.

Lee's been at the Club for a few years now (but is still fairly young for a groundsman) and has grafted hard to get where he is now.

Great bloke and thoroughly deserved.

Read somewhere that the award isn't just for COMs pitch but all pitches including those at Carrigton, well done thoroughly deserved.
