For what it's worth I think Thiago will stay at Barca.

Which will be a shame because he is a real talent. We should still go after him, match the buy out clause, engage with the player and see what happens.

I still retain that it is a brave thing and sends a message of intent if we go after game changers like Bale when the opportunity arises, even if we don't manage to sign him. The pragmatic thing will then be to manage the squad in terms of getting rid of players that are surplus to requirement and do not fit the bill whilst still prioritizing the strategy of going after genuine talent.

As for Thiago, I remain hopeful.
