About a month ago, I was hoping that Isco was coming to City and Thiago would stay at Barca or follow Isco.
Now, obviously that is not possible as Isco has chosen Madrid despite them already having the likes of Cristiano, Ozil, Kaka, Di Maria and Modric in the same position. Now I see the situation with Thiago as very similar...
Instead of going to United (thank god), he may be set to join Bayern when they have Götze, Kroos, Muller, Ribery and Robben in similar positions. Pep Guardiola has come out and said that he only wants Thiago Alcantara - no one else - and has told Sammer to sign him.
While people may think that he is more likely to break into the first team at Barcelona, it is not necessarily true because Bayern may be implementing a 4-1-4-1 formation with 4 attack minded midfielders and wingers. Also Götze could play as a striker, so Thiago could in fact be a starter. Whereas at Barca, Tito is unwilling to trust youth and it seems will stick with a midfield pair of Xavi and Iniesta, with Fabregas occasionally in the mix. Busquets and Song will alternate to play behind these two.
Anyway, I hope he goes to Bayern.

That would be a very drastic fall from grace imo, they haven't lost anybody yet so I don't think they'll slip that far.
