Thiago Alcantara

I'm not sure if I'm happy because he snubbed United or because this is actually a good move for him.

In my opinion he is more likely to break into the Bayern line-up than Barcelona's. Even though they have more midfielders, he is higher up in the pecking order already with a coach who is good at developing youth. I must say I'm really looking forward to seeing Bayern next season. They'll be the team for us to beat.

Bayern Munich would bum us multiple times with no lube, then slap us round the face and command us to make them a fry up mate.

Glad to see them not getting him but this is another proof of Premier League having huge problems of getting most wanted players these days..

Weeks and weeks of linking many players to Premier League and bang - Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, now even PSG and Monaco take them in front of PL noses.

Looks like Champions League disappointments for Premier League clubs are not to stop anytime soon.

United were offering 17million, bayern bought him for 21.5 and dont always listen to press half of their reports are made up.

From the usually reliable Duncan castles:

If Manchester United genuinely “missed out” on Thiago Alcantara when the young Spain midfielder agreed to join Bayern Munich, it was not a transfer the Premier League champions were ever close to completing. According to senior sources at Barcelona, at no point were United in contact to discuss a transfer fee, nor to signal their intention to activate Thiago’s release clause. That stance fits with United’s public position on the subject. Asked about the 22-year-old being a target for the club last week, David Moyes said: “I never said at any time that he was.”

Think that's a bit bs since there were plenty of reports out of Barcelona through MD that they were genuinely interested and could possibly get a deal done. It is possible that Moyes wasn't all they convinced but regardless once Pep got involved he was always going to choose them
