Thiago Alcantara

Not to be negative, but if Liverpool sign Thiago, i think they have sealed the title for next season.

They already have such a complete team. Adding Thiago to their midfield would give them much more variation. They will add another 10-15 goals to their team with him in that side.

City still have so much chopping and changing to do, whereas Liverpool don't. Might benefit us in the long run, but could affect us in the short term due to various new signings having to adapt to Pep's way of playing.

Putting a tenner on him being POTY next season. He's a quality player so could deserve it if he went anywhere in the PL but if he does end up at LFC it's guaranteed regardless. The dick slurping will be deafening.

Thiago so much better than Gundogan and given how much Pep rates Gundogan imagine Thiago in same position...

Quicker, better passer and actually works hards off the ball.

Liverpool will do extremely well if they get him for some cut price deal.

Agreed, just like when united bought vernon oh wait

Love this player, complete baller.

It’s an assumption but you would assume if Pep wanted him we would get him.

It’s the one I’m holding onto if he goes Liverpool.

Would be a huge upgrade for them.

The only problem is keeping him fit and injury free,

I’ve echoed this a bit now. His injury record is down right frightful (to me). The league is also a lot more physical. Would he really be able to stay injury free? Maybe all his injuries are behind him but him and his brother (Rafinha) are injured like there’s no tomorrow. I’d like to be proven wrong with stats. Maybe all these injuries have stopped for a while now.

He won't improve his injury record under Klopp and wouldn't survive the rigours of the English Premier League in general. If he could of done that then he woudn't of been out of the door at Bayern.

absolutely gutted if he goes to the dippers as would love him here but we have no room for him do we?
Get rid of Dihno and Gundogan. Bring in Aouor and an athletic DM.

A midfield 3 of Athletic DM, Aouor and Kevin will rival any 3. You can have Bernado and Rodri back them up. Rotate those 5 behind the 6 upfront.

5 incoming
Ake
Torres
Aouor
Athletic DM
Soyuncu
Reguilon

This will be a real haul of talent and potential. We really have to buy the best available and not waste Kevin's next 4 years.

Let me be Crytsl Clear, if the dipshitz had Kevin for the next 4 years they'll win at least 2 more CL's and walk the league 4 straight years.

Kevin Debryune and Mbappe will likely be the 2 best players in the world the next 2-3 years.

We need to stack the team around him and go win some big things.

So get Aouor. Especially since Kevin name dropped him personally. And get an athletic DM too. Let us have a midfield that is intense and technical.

Then re-establish the Press ( Gabby I'm looking directly at you, time to take over as lead striker). Sterling and Foden/Torres (both young and can press,) Mahrez and Aguero can be super subs. As they have individual magic but aren't the greatest pressers.

Walker, Soyuncu on the right. That will be the most speed ever on the right side of a Defense. Laporte/ Ake at LCB and Reguillion/ Mendy at LB.

That for me would be close to a dream summer.

1/3 of the way their. Next Season's mantra: Do not waste Kev's best 3 years.

Gundogan works hard off the ball.

I don’t see Thiago improving Liverpool all that much. They currently bypass the midfield as much as possible, they’d have to change style quite dramatically to get the best out of him. if they start struggling to break down shit teams then sure he helps with that and gives them a different option but I reckon they’ll continue to stick with their cross it in and play the percentages style. Thiago must be mad to go from being the ball playing thoroughbred to a workhorse who just has to give it to the fullbacks to cross.

Completely different to the players they have now in that midfield. He would be a substantial upgrade.

Are you playing football manager here? Biggest pile of nonsense I've ever read on this forum.

You can't just "get rid" of players. Other clubs might not want them especially during a pandemic. Aguero and Mahrez as super subs?

Liverpool/Bayern have a first 11 and rarely change it and that's their strength and our weakness.

Lately, Liverpool don't seem get rid of anyone and add genuine quality to their side. Last season they didn't go out and spend for the sake of it like we did- they add quality when they need to and when it improves their first 11.

If Thiago joins Liverpool, might as well say the title is staying at Anfield next season. The man is a genuine world superstar and he would walk into any midfield in World Football.

It might be a bold statement, but I highly doubt if Thiago wasn't playing in Bayern's midfield this season they wouldn't have won the CL- he just runs games for them and is the main man for them. Class act and has been for the last decade.

I'd buy him for 2 reasons-

1. To stop Liverpool from strengthening

2. Genuine World Class player in a Football World of very few World Class Midfielders.

Thiago and Koulibaly would transfer us from a team trying to catch Liverpool to a team dominating them.

Playing Gundogan as a pure 6 isnt that much different from Thiago.

Again, for some reason, Gundogan gets scapegoated way too hard on here.

We played 532 against Lyon and Pep played Gundogan as a free 8, we already know he is mediocre there this is not new, and also not where Thiago plays either.

Play Gundogan as a pure 6 and you see his best qualities go through, and just like Rodri, if you put mobile midfielders in front of him (like Thiago gets as well) you have a phenomenal player.

Rodri and Gundogan as our 6 is still very very good, we dont need Alcantara, instead we need to replace Silva with a mobile midfielder like Aouar, or play Bernardo or Foden there who I also think can provide the energy there.

You are really only moving Gundogan
Zinchencko is likely a gonner after his comments. Reguilon has a 25 million buy out

Zinchencko= Reguilon 25m
Dave= Aouor 54 m
Gundogan= Thiago 35 M
Soyuncu= Garcia 65 M
Ake= Otamendi 41 M
Sane= Torres

The only player that really is leaving that wasn't before would be Gundogan. Dihno doesn't really have to leave. He'd just barely play barring injury. Start his transition to coaching.

At worst. Ignore Thiago. The other five positions are realistic needs.

And who wants to buy Gundogan? Do we just offer him to clubs and put his name out there in the shop window?
He's been a main stay Pep player for a good few seasons now. It's not how we do things at City. Zinchenko is one I could see leaving - as I can Angelino.

There's no guarantee even Otamendi will leave on his high wages.

I cant disagree with any of that but I cant see it happening unfortunately.
