Looking for Joan of Arc's melted Walkman
According to Ben Moss of Sport.co.uk.......

Manchester City have joined Real Madrid in the race for AC Milan defender Thiago Silva according to Spanish daily Marca.
The cash-rich Premier League club have already spent considerably more than the rest of their rivals and Roberto Mancini recently suggested they had not given up on securing the lucrative signatures of James Milner and Mario Balotelli, but it appears the Italian is also working on other targets if Marca are to be believed.
The respected newspaper claims Manchester City have already launched a €40 million offer in an effort to beat Real Madrid in the race.
The Brazilian international is adamant he is happy at AC Milan, but both his aforementioned suitors are hoping to persuade the Serie A giants into selling the 25-year-old.
Silva played in Brazil’s 2-0 friendly win over the USA yesterday and although he would favour a move to the Bernabeu should AC Milan accept their bid, Manchester City reportedly remain hopeful their offer will dwarf Jose Mourinho’s alleged bid.

Only joined them last year but he is a typical Brazilian defender; can pick a pass, skillful. Howver, unlike most Brazilian defenders, he can defend well.

40 foooking million for a defender we could of got for about 10 when Robinho suggested him!!!!!

40 mil no thanks. I personally thinks he's overrated anyway. Although he did look good along side Luiz against a poor USA last night.

I honestly expected us to conclude Balo and Milner and for that to be that for this summer. However, the more i think about it the more i can see us going for a quality Centre-back. It is obvious that Boetang will play on the full-back and our C-B pairings were pretty dire last season.
Thiago Silva or Luiz would be great improvements, especially Thiago.
edit* would also desperately try to offload Robinho as part of the deal

So, we are still looking for one more CB?

Thiago Silva was one of the best defenders in Serie A last season. Along with Nesta, they created arguably the best defensive pair in Italy last season.

T. Silva is confident on the ball and is not afraid of passing it forward. He do sometimes go forward with ball, also, if he sees an opening in front of him!!!

If it is true that we are after him, then it will be a great move (based on what I've seen of his play; as I'm a fan of AC Milan!!)
