Think about this.

That low life gangster Shinawatra mortgaged our club to the brink of ruin and paid £18 million for Jo (all borrowed money) to underline his big ambitions.

He also replaced Sven with errrr..... Mark Hughes.

Thankfully we came back from the edge with the ADUG, who, whilst investing a great deal of their own money, also took some time to patiently find out how best to run the club. They sought and listened to the best of advice, of that you can be sure. And, having given him time, they replaced Shinawatra's man with Roberto Mancini, a proven winner.

Mancini has had one January transfer window. (Adam Johnson are two words that should stop any criticism dead) and we are now looking like a top 4 side. Not the finished article by any means, but when we play these days, we play, and to some tune.

Manchester City: Hardest team to beat in the Premier League. Official.

All this talk of maybe finishing 5th, 6th and what a great season that would be.......

Who is looking at us these days and thinking " 3 points" ?

Who?

Nobody is. Not anymore. Things have changed.

whilst investing a great deal of their own money..

Change that to spending less than they will find in their sofas, we are talking about an incredible rich family here and Sheikh Mansour alone had a net profit of almost £3bn on his investments in the UK last year.

Er, the club were indeed in a bit of a financial mess before Thaksin took over.

However, just before he left they were in a complete and utter meltdown, with a worse financial situation, players bought on the never, never with payments due and rumours of players being flogged at the behest of the board.

Oh, and not to mention that the club was tarnished with issues like political and financial corruption, human rights abuse and political properganda, which no self respecting football club should be anywhere near.

The man was a twat who took the club closer to oblivion than anyone before or since has ever got close to.

Not to mention that, out of all the people who have ever run this club, he is the only one who had no connection or feeling for the club and whose motives were totally and utterly concerned with something that has nothing to do with this club (ie: winning political favour half way around the world).

Now, you could say the current owners have motives that are nothing to do with Manchester or Manchester City. But consider the way they have run the club, their efforts to keep the club connected to the fans and the city and the investment they are making in the club and the commuity. Then compare it to that bellend and his parading of players in Thailand and his sacking of a manager in a way that made the Hughes sacking look like it was the most humane event ever.

The man was a complete chancer and didn't care a jot for this club.

And I don't care who he managed to sell the club to. The fact that he took a wedge of cash for the club when he was desperate and realised how much he had fucked it up is nothing to be praised for imo

I did that once with our videocamera (turning it to its side cos I thought it "artistic"). Husband is still pissed off when we watch the film back.

Sorry to burst your bubble but that just is not true. What you are referring to is the government's money (which is for its people) and not the personal wealth of any one individual/family. China has foreign reserves of in excess of 2.4trillion, but do you think Hu Jintao can spend any of that money on his personal belongings! Sheikh Mansour has spent his personal wealth on City.

To use that phrase in relation to man like Shinawatra is low. Really, really low.

In fact it's fucking disgusting.

If it pisses you off some might say that was a good thing, silly thread by a silly person.....when pissed anyway.

When Thaksin took over the club, Stuart Pearce was in charge... we hadn't spent a bean in transfer deals for the previous three seasons (SWP had financed it all)... we had a squad that was just about the poorest since the days of Frank Clark... we were everyone's hot favourites to get relegated.... Wardle wanted out... we didn't have a pot to piss in... we were on the verge of administration... (I won't say FACT, even though it was!)...

He appointed Sven Goran Eriksson as manager, one of the most successful managers in European football history... he spent circa £40m to strengthen the squad... we finished 9th. that season, when the pre-season expectation was relegation...

Then Thaksin's money run out.

So he sold us... and we've been fucking laughing ever since.

But had Thaksin NOT come in, we would have been relegated... and none of what we have now would have EVER happened.

Mackintosh spent three years travelling the world trying to sell City, and couldn't come up with a single serious investor.

Thaksin introduced us to the Arabs. No question.

So have a pop at Thaksin if you so desire, slate him for his Human Rights issues (even though I dare say our current owners aren't amiss at that sort of thing!)... but never forget, we would NOT be where we are without him.

And now I will say it.... FACT!

Are you talking about yourself now?

Or has Marilyn Manson suddenly become a standard bearer of good taste?

Doesn't piss me off, mate. It's still a disgusting misuse of memorial words on your part though.

i agree with a lot of that but even thought big frank authorised the murders for many drug addicts in thailand i cant help but smile when i see his cheeky face.

Can't you just turn the telly on it's side when you watch it?
