Things In Life You Underestimated....

For someone brought up in a strong socialist background and listening to "The Clash" I have really embraced conservatism with a small "C". As I have got older being a boring old fashioned stick in the mud is now my position of choice on most matters.

Never imagined it could be this much fun.

Relationships. My advice to anyone is to not settle down until you're at least 30. I did it at 23 and pretty much took the piss. Only from 30 onwards and moreso now at 35 do I think I have the respect it takes to be committed in a marriage.

Maybe it was more a personal thing than an age one?

Possibly mate, it's just there is so much to do before settling down. I look back at some of my behaviour and I would happily go back and kick my head in for it. I know of friends who have been the same, then when they finally hit that age where all of a sudden the nonsense seems no longer appealing, they do what I've done and actually settle down like the meaning of the word suggests.
