My 60 year old sister who's had cancer 3 times, got low white blood cell count, low immune system and got early signs of dementia being told week after her 60th birthday (in March 2023) that she's deemed fit for work and had to start proving she was applying for jobs. To me that's not fair

Bit of a joke when she should be retired with her feet up. Unfortunately these days you have to over egg the pudding to get anywhere, it’s a bit like claiming on your insurance, it’s their job to find a loophole. Do your research & be well read on the subject is always best practice, the people who process these claims look for buzz words, key indicators etc.
Your sister sounds like an absolute Warrior, so no doubt she’s been a bit too proud when filling in the forms. All she has to say is she was a bit too brief & hasty when making whatever claim she made & get that appeal in, there used to be an independent welfare advisory service that would help people, not sure if they’re around anymore, but citizens advice are

Thirty years ago we were told my two year old was dying, nothing to be done.
I was a total wreck.
Thanks to her mother’s determination to leave no stone unturned my daughter is now a successful solicitor.

I have lost people I love to cancer so when I hear stories like this it makes me so happy. Thanks for sharing and best wishes to DD for a positive outcome for his daughter.

I find it hard to even say the word to be honest, To any battling this or anyone helping someone else on their journey I hope and wish you all the very best because I know how difficult it is.

It is important to take time to look after yourself as well, dealing with the stress of someone battling cancer it tough.

Sadly been through this situation myself and its not something i want to see anyone go through. Cancer is fucking awful.
