Full time education England last until 18 now.

Feel for your sister mate, I can empathise. I’ve got spina bifida, had 27 corrective surgeries, arthritis in both hips, degenerative liver disease, chronic anaemia, one kidney, and yet have never qualified for a penny of assistance as an adult - which sounds bizarre when you type it out. But it’s mainly because I’m a stubborn git, I have a good job working mostly from home, I’m still relatively young in my 30s and I can get by without the help, so I refuse to appeal.

Family thinks I’m nuts, naturally. I’m not, I’m just a bit prideful and don’t see why I should bend over backwards and be made to beg for help, they don’t give a fuck about your dignity. I asked, they said no. So that’s that in my book.

Your sister sounds like she’s been through enough to deserve a well-earned retirement. As others have said, the appeal process is the way. Best of luck to you both.

When my mrs was diagnosed and had to give up work she took one look at the forms for DLA (now PIP) and said, ''Fuck that.''
I filled everything out and the social said she was not entitled to anything. After months of research, HMRC realised their mistake (2 years of lost NI payments) records and honoured her claim.

PIP and ESA assessments are among the most unfair things, because they are often carried out by people qualified in totally different areas of physical health.
 
Plus you have to game the form filling.
Eg the three times a night/20 minutes each time thresholds, etc..
