Things to see and do in New York

I’m taking my 16 year old daughter in October, will she be allowed in bars with me, obviously she wouldn’t be drinking alcohol.
The Refinery roof top is quite a cool bar with a view

Assuming you’ve already booked hotels? If you haven’t, I’d stay in Hoboken at least one night ….across the water in NJ and an incredible view of Manhattan ….dead easy to get back into Manhattan on the Path (subway)

I loved The Edge, Central Park, went to see the Nicks at MSG

Disliked Katz Deli immensely even though I know it’s a NY institution

Chat GPT was where I got most of my places to visit from

Managed to get 40% off the Go City explorer pass so have 10 definite attractions in mind and a laid back itinerary mapped out to tick em off.

Something a bit different, treat the wife to breakfast at Tiffany’s
Treat her to a little gift on the way out as well, she’ll thank you forever…
I’ve already joked I’d get her a tennis bracelet from Tiffany’s but I’ve not checked the prices yet as I fear it’ll Di ish me off before I get there lol

Don't bother paying to see the Statue of Liberty, it's a massive waste of time and money. Get the free ferry to Staten Island and you go right past it anyway
Yeah we were thinking that…especially as we left it too late to get inside her head!

New York city fc
Yup looked at that and The Mets fixtures.

Old misery arse and the lad aren’t up for that so I’ve been told I can go on my own!

…I have AuDHD so there’s no chance of that happening. I end up in all sorts of mither on an almost daily basis even when I have a responsible adult with me!

Look for the immigration desk, go through it and look for transit lounge. Book flights for Chicago, do not pass go, do not collect £200. Thank me later.
Does that mean you didn’t rate New York or you just much preferred Chicago?

Have a mate in Nashville and will be keeping an eye on flights when I’m over there if we can get an early out late back same day deal.

Yeah we’re all booked. We’re at the Hyatt Grand Central and get our pants pulled down for over $400 in hotel fees as soon as we step inside the place.

Rookie mistake on my part but ya live and learn eh.

Eat. Eat. And eat.

Joe's pizza. Hamburger America. Liberty Bagels. And the one I'd recommend the most Katz's deli. It's open 24 hours, looks like a bus station in Bolton but the €30 dollar sandwich is life changing.

And the free ferry to Staten Island every 30 minutes.

If you’re going to do Too of the rock, try to plan your visit just before sunset for great 360 views and then watch the empire state building in all its glory at nightfall

Can’t you cancel the hotel?
Whenever I go and stay over, I stay in Queens, in Long Island City. Find a nice cheaper hotel with a subway stop a few minutes walk and you are in Manhattan in less than 10 mins.

It was a British Airways special offer package deal so I’m guessing not unfortunately.

On the plus side it’s a great location so sightseeing will be a doddle.

10 days is quite a long time so take it nice and easy. I thought 4 days wasn’t enough but a couple more would have done.

Maybe have a couple of days out by train. Philadelphia is only around an hour away and you could do one of the beach resorts on a sunny day. Rockaway Beach is popular. 1hr 15 by train.
