Anyone remember in the 60's those cards with pictures of the American Civil war on them, and also Cards with aliens attacking from Mars on them.

The American Civil war ones where as gory as fuck yet no teachers worried about them being swapped in class!!

nope not alive then but are these they? just let the slideshow load.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.oldbubblegumcards.com/1960s/Civil-War-News/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.oldbubblegumcards.com/1960s/ ... index.html</a>

Woah those are the ones Blue nice one. Parents & Teachers would have a fit if your kids came home with those now. I remember the bubblegum was that wafer thin shit like a piece of cardboard.

reminds me of a trip over to france with my folks when I was about 7, so 1984. Had that on the ferry. Happy days.
I can't help but think that kids growing up from 2000 onwards will be diluted to things like this, as everything is all technology now and almost greedy to the point kids demand the best of everything and more often than not they get it too. Like my memory is the Atari and Nintendo, whereas kids now it will be phones, pads, iPods, laptops and a gluttony of technology which almost overshadows each other to the point you can't remember one from the next.
Glad I was an 80's/90's kid.

Same here Pige.

Kids these days don't ever have to wait for anything, it's all now now now.

We're lucky I suppose in that we grew up in an age when the technology rush was just starting, but we remember the good old days before when the technology was pretty crap. Can you imagine kids nowadays having the patience to load a game on a Commodore 64?

Also, I had a Raleigh Grifter, which was uber-cool.

Blokes in suits in the pub, Friday and Saturday nights.
Sherbet Dabs
Kids playing with marbles
Politicians who resign when they've been caught out lying/shagging/thieving
Port and lemon
Girls getting married before they have kids
Cigarette adverts
Roque Santa Cruz

I had a Skyway BMX, custom built to look like one Andy Ruffle used to ride.
