I've just spoken to my source (well had a text...)
Basically he clarified what Ajay has said we are in there but theres big doubts we will get him.
I can tell you the offer is around the 90-100m mark
i think there is something going on, is it me or why would they have gone back in if they didn't think they could get him?
Ok here's my conspiracy theory for today on this, could it be that by having a bid in (with non disclosure agreements) that it is in some way delaying Real from moving on with other targets. While we will happily take Kaka if something came of it but in the meantime are concentrating our efforts elsewhere with Madrid basically stuck in limbo trying to fix there Kaka deal before they look complete clowns in the annual Milan circus ?
following on from your theory Nixon....
bear in mind that the Real elections were not supposed to be until mid-June, however because Real didn't want to have to wait that long to get on with transfers they made all the other candidates drop out to allow perez a free run so he could be elected immediately.
City do not want the kaka transfer to happen quickly as we want to be able to move on our targets without other clubs having cash sloshing around, therefore although we don't expect to get kaka we throw a spanner in the works whilst we progress with other targets - Eto'o, Tevez, Villa etc.
If though the Real move falls apart for whatever reason (Bosco's demands.....) we are more than happy to pick up the pieces so to speak.
Win Win for City.
