This lad is one of the world's top players and we are extremely lucky even to be interested in him. I'll be amazed if we can get him.

If he's good enough for Everton, then he's obviously way above our standards.

I've heard he'll go back to Everton for free just for the honour of playing for Moyesie...

Not a chance the lad would move to become a squad with us when he could walk into the likes of Bolton, West Ham, Everton etc etc and play regular first team football, Add to that the damage it could to do to his international career sitting on our bench.

What concerns me more is who’s pulling the strings as I’m sure if RM wanted LD he would have gone for him in January when Everton did.

Pretty sure we already have better than him in the squad right now.

I think this could be said for a number of players we have been linked with:

Buying a US player and then making him warm the bench all the time would damage our reputation in the USA, not increase it.

I'd rather we announced some link-up with a team over there or a US academy or something rather than buy a player.

Besides, as some pointed out, the whole Landon Donavon thing was pretty much forced on Mancini and he's proven himself before in interviews to always say the "nice, agreeing" response rather than saying "no". Far more likely all this speculation began because Mancini didn't want to suggest Donavon is a bad player, I reckon we have zero interest in him IRL.
