Thinking of ditching Virgin TV

A lot of the time for me it wont play HD films off the Catch Up & Demand section offered films. It's slightly annoying.

I got the 1TB HD box as a multiroom add on for £49 t'other day. Should have been £349 plus installation, I've got it for £49 with free installation.

Same plus broadband/calls sky hd package for £38 for a year & sky sports for £21 for 3months including ESPN and then sky movies for £1 a month with no obligation other than 31days notice to cancel. (+ the £10.25 multiroom of course).

I have skysports package and 100MB net + 4 servers running at 22Gbps, 56TB with all the latest stuff and archived stuff + axx to a further 450 odd TB of scene servers.

Anything i want i can have streaming or fully downloaded within seconds and i do mean a few seconds.

Screw the movie packages and lovefilm etc.

I even invited one of those cold calling love film sellers in the other day and showed him my setup and he was fucking pleading for an account on my personal and scene ftp servers.

Come see me, don't pay for silly packages you don't really need.

Reading this thread Ive realised Ive been getting well ripped off.I'm paying about £110 a month for one of the old vigin boxes,broadband and phone.Oh and I don't have the movies.If I ring up and moan how what do you think I could get knocked off the bill? Also do any of you have more than one box? Thanks

I'm on a V+ 250gb box, sky sports (not HD), ESPN HD, Movies (not HD) and the xl tv package(not HD) They want £7 a month to upgrade to HD across the board.

I get free landline, 0800, 0845(?) and virgin mobile calls 24/7, caller id and call barring.

Broadband is wireless router with 30mb and unlimited download.

That lot is £78.40.

I worked out that all the things we have - this, gym membership, owners club and magazine subscriptions plus this and that amount to over £2,000 a year and we can live without them - barring the internet I suppose. If I jacked the footy in that'd be another grand.

I've just done a review of finances as what's left after paying everything out isn't as much as there should be :-)

Amazing how a few takeaways, magazine subscriptions, a few treats for the kids, couple of away games all add up to far more than the mortgage!

i fucked sky off a long time ago and thought i couldnt live with out it.
but i can....you can get anything you want online

i now just use freeview and pay talktalk £114 one of payment and £3.25 a month for 12 months .
unlimited broadband
any time calls to landlines and 0844/0845 numbers(i think)
line rental.
also got £50 credited to my account which i can transfer to my bank account or use for the monthly payments.

I like Virgin to be honest and i know it costs a bit, i pay on average £105 a month that's for a Tivo (front room) a V+ box in my kitchen, sports hd espn hd movies etc etc 100mb broad which i do use for downloading, phone (don't use it) and with that package me and my other half have a samsung galaxy s2 each which costs us each £14 a month.

I have absolutely no idea what you just said but I seen the word free and now I'm interested.

Basically i own a lot of servers with lots of hdd space and very fast connections.
I cant say exactly what i do but i do offer bluemooners free access to the latest stuff, virus free, best quality rips available updated every 20 seconds.
