Thirty three years ago today!

'Udders' did have a couple of really decent chances before we scored I seem to remember. There wasn't too much to cheer about as a blue in those days but that was a brilliant day, big celebrations on The Kippax when White rounded their keeper for the 10th!
Someone I knew decided to give the game a miss (pay on the turnstiles in those days for most games) had been out on the piss the night before and thought it would be 'crap game anyway'! Speaking to him sometime later said he wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry when he saw the score!
Either the week before or week after I'm sure I saw us win 4:3 at Swindon?

I was one of them, pissed as a fart Friday, got in pub for 11, pissing it down, thought fuck it staying in pub all day when coach turned up. Also remember Piccadilly Radio being on and as anticipated we were shit to start with and sat there smugly thinking what a good move I’d made.............

When I got back from the match my dad said it actually spelt out TEN on the grandstand vidiprinter when the full times were coming in.....

I wasn't there, I was working.

Remember ringing the old "Clubcall" from the works phone many times that afternoon as City racked up the goals!!

Was working down in Bude at the time, met Marilyn and yes 33 years together.I did see us score 7 away from home a club record.

Yes, I was in the North Stand that day, we could have been two down before McNab opened the scoring.

We should have had 10 against Watford last season, missed a couple of good chances late on.

I was on the kippax with one of my mates. I was 19 and we were off to my first England away game after the match. What a great attacking performance, and three hat tricks in the same game was a record at the time, I’m not sure if it’s been broken or matched since. We had our bags with us and went straight to the airport after to fly to Belgrade where we watched England beat Yugoslavia 4-1 to qualify for Euro ‘88. We were in their end that night, it was mental and the old bill took us out at half time and walked four of us across the pitch to the England end to a a standing ovation that was pretty special at the time. Came home and went to Reading away on the Saturday. Went to every game home and away at the time, gave my mum £10 a week rent and the rest went on the match and weekend ale. The halcyon days, loved every minute of it, even being in Germany and watching England lose all three group games the following summer when daft Donald said he was going to kill the Russian goalie...

I was there. My dad took me for my birthday as I was turned 12 that day. You can see me a few times in the second half.

I was sat on the concrete wall at the bottom of the windy corner near the metal gate. Im wearing a blue and green coat.

We nearly missed the 10th as when Andy May scored their penalty my dad wanted to go as he was sure the whistle would be blown. As we made it up to the top of the kippax we heard the "go on!" And I turned round I saw White slot it home to make it 10!

Really one of my favourite games ever
