That Ed Thompson cock womble has a little say in the dailymail that we have cashed in next seasons season tickets to make up our match day revenue

Ed Thompson, the FFP commentator and analyst, said: ‘It could be that they have taken out a mortgage against one year’s advance match day income. It is certainly a baffling figure.’
link bb?
and can we get that **** back on here to explain that comment? does he know what goes into a statement of comprehensive income? fucking twat.

see, the stupid snakey little wankstains hasn't even taken the following factors into account:
1. city square increasing matchday revenues through merchandise, food and drink sales
2. record ticket sales after our title win
3. extra matchday income from the fa cup run.
stupid, stupid, stupid little ignorant arsehole, this lads an expert and I'm still paying my fucking dues? Christ.

Ed is baffled

Ed Thompson, the FFP commentator and analyst, queried how commercial income could have increased so much last season. "It is certainly a baffling figure," he said. "There always looked like there had to be some kind of off-the-wall element to the figure, to mean that City complied with FFP."

He's a self proclaimed expert that was schooled by someone who actually knew what he was talking about when he came on here.
Like then, he doesn't have the backbone to admit he's wrong so he comes out with sly comments like "baffling figure"
I hope the club take him to task on this, I'm sick of hearing bitter little poltroons like him have digs at us in the press. The ill informed bollocks he's spouting is damaging, and will be reported as fact by the red tops.
Time for our lawyers to earn their money.

Ahh is that the lad PB schooled? Who runs the FFPR website? Who refuses to admit when he's wrong?

Yep, that's the chap. Has no grasp of even basic accountancy rules, let alone FFP.

Judging by his latest comments he's still bitter about the complete shafting he got on here. I wouldn't mind but from what I can gather he's no more than a jumped-up financial advisor, not even a qualified accountant.

Thats what id love to see, our lawyers and experts to just disgrace this guy publicly for the fraud he is. He showed himself for what he is on here, but unfortuately all the outside pubic and media lap his lies up. He knows now he will be wrong about City meeting FFP, so he is now resorting to this to keep some kind of face.

"It could be.......

That essentially translates to "I'm just completely guessing here and have absolutely no proof or idea what is going on".

How can it be legally acceptable for someone to basically make shit up in the absence of any fact or proof, especially something which reflects so poorly on City?

This Ed Thompson guy, having manifestly demonstrated his failure to grasp some fairly key concepts of FFP, shouldn't be allowed to continue to sell himself as an "expert" in something which he is, at best, moderately aware of.

no they fucking won't. I've complained to the daily mail and highlighted it as a possible libel issue, I've also told them I'm going to report them to press regulation and the club and I'm in the process of drafting those two e-mails atm. that **** is going to retract that, no self proclaimed 'ffp expert' is slandering my club in print and getting away with it.

Good, im glad someone with the knowledge and understanding of FFP is actually challenging this guy outside of BM. The mail obviously do not check the sources of this information and just take it as gospel.

It's more likely the Mail don't care whether he's right or not. As long as something backs up their pre-determined position on a subject they'll print it, and on many occasions they'll simply make up facts and figures to "support" their position. You can't believe a single thing you read in the Daily Mail, it has been demonstrated time and time again that they simply make shit up.

No idea, you expect me to wade through 61 pages to find that out for you?!! If you search by author using ffplay it'll find all his posts (only 29 of them). He only posted about FFP.

Do we think the club actually care about these kind of comments and reports in the media? Surely they are aware of the media bias on this, but im presuming will just let the figures themselves do the talking rather than feel the need to publicly defend our finances against these kind of stories.

Is the right answer.

Let them challenge. Let them question. Let them moan and cry and whinge and bitch.

It's all water tight.

Fuck 'em. Fuck 'em all.
