I have a dream.

PB, Swiss Ramble, and Ed, taking part in a Sunday Supplement-esc show on City and FFPR. Along with somebody from City and UEFA.

When are the figures due out PB?
I think it must be this week. I bloody well hope so as I've got to write my KotK article about them and get it in for next Wednesday. It would be nice to have something to write about.

Cheers PB.

Looking forward to the announcement/figures.

City ruining FFPR since........

just wanted to register my gratitude to PB and our 2 notable visitors who have made this a very enjoyable and instructive read.

i still, 50 pages later, agree with PB that this Ed fellow has a difficult time in admitting his own errors even in view of evidence contrary to his own assertions... and i can't shake the feeling that he is just a bitter City-hater who attempts to round up a mob of pitchfork and torch brandishing villagers against all things City... but for whatever it's worth to him i would like to say that i appreciate his taking part in this discussion.

also very glad that Swiss Ramble weighed in. i wasn't aware of his work but now after bookmarking his blog i plan to read him regularly.

also: well done to the mods and posters for keeping it (mostly) civil.

Here here. Best thread ever on BM and a big thank you to all the contributors.

I agree with everything you've said regarding Ed, and kudos to him for having the guts to come on here and put his head on the block.........................................he just wasn't prepared for the experts on Bluemoon though :-)

Like you I will also follow Swiss Ramble from here on in. Very impressed with his Knowledge.

His twitter has a few digs at city so he is certainly bias against us.

Some one add him to this site :D

Mmmmm

Not only do I have several accounts with HSBC I am also a shareholder
I shall be writing to them today to ask if they are aware that one of their employees is potentially bringing the bank's name in to disrepute, or whether his actions could potentially lose the bank any customers?

Great point, would be interesting to know the outcome

Among other questions I asked him if his employers HSBC knew that he routinely spent chunks of his working day on Twitter discussing a subject that has no relevance to his job. He didn't reply to that or any of the other questions I asked in the same post.

That's a bit extreme isn't it? Grass.

If he's paid to work, then work he should do. If everyone happened to engage in social media when they should be earning their corn, the country would soon grind to a halt.

Personally, I think that's not for us to get involved with. Each to their own and all that but I'm not interested in dropping him in the shit with his employers - grassing is playground stuff IMO.

That aside, I do agree from experience of reading snippets on his website in the past that he appears to be showing at least a little bitterness towards City which in turn gives the impression that he's not being particularly impartial when expressing his opinions about FFP. Fair play to him for having the balls to come on here but I'd say that even the likes of Andersred, despite being a United fan, give a more balanced viewpoint when talking about City and FFP.

It's getting harder finding things since we got decent owners & stopped being shit. It was so much easier in the old days.

Why not just construe your own guesstimates to suit your own agenda on FFP, then?
It's all the rage, apparently.

Do you not suspect that even though we'll probably pass, UEFA will find something to give us a slap on the wrist for - just to be seen to be doing something about the big blue juggernaut that's "ruining football"?

what a sad individual , dedicating his life , to proving city are not economically viable , yet our owner is one of the richest men in the world , and the club has no debt , we pay transfer fees up front , not on the never never , and we have poured money into the pockets of less wealthy clubs
Hes an absolute prick who doesnt see the bigger picture , how can UEFA tell a private individual how to spend his money ? , fuck em , world domination and nothing less for gods own club ,

just about sums it up

The disingenuousness of the whole FFP framework screams at us...

I suspect the Twatini is over a barrel now

Belgian lawyers dismantling his case
His son in the finance dept at PSG
Monaco (de facto French club) buying top talent with a stadium of under 30,000

The elephant in the room of the drawbridge being pulled up on those just 'below the salt' ... e.g Everton , Athletico, St Etienne, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Valencia etc etc etc etc

Wonder if he's had a word with John De Menezes over at the Independent given their latest bollocks on stadium naming rights?

I'm not so sure they will. In that interview Platini gave Martin Samuel a while back, although it was largely akin to a car crash one thing he did say is that City have made big strides to comply with FFP in the past 12 months which seems to indicate that we may now have him onside to an extent. In any case, while I'm not keen on Platini, I feel his hands have been somewhat tied regarding this FFP malarkey with the so-called elite clubs driving the agenda and UEFA having to go along with it to please them because they can't afford to piss them off.

I wonder how influential they were in UEFA including the exemption for pre June 2010 contracts. And the clause for treating clubs more favourably if losses are declining.

I expect they have already done a fair bit of fighting behind the scenes.
