This is bad...

I still don't think we'll get Tevez or Barry. Not sure why they would prefer us over Liverpool, or in Barry's case an Aston Villa side in the Europa League. IMO anyway...

Money talks

£32m for Tevez ??
The worlds gone mad.
Completely agree. Throw in 140k a week and it's completely ludicrous.

I like Tevez and wouldn't mind seeing him at City, but IF those figures are true, there must surely be much better options out there. A striker who actually scores goals would be a nice start.

Surely 25M for Tevez, £17M for Barry makes more sense if the total is £42M?

Perhaps they presumed that out of that 42, Tevez was 32, which was only ever the price for United.

Just reading the comments at the bottom of the NOTW story. Plenty of rags slagging us off, but know absolutely nothing about football, it's piss funny. I sent a pretty strong reply, no swear words mind, based around them being a billion in debt, spending over 20m on a fair few players, going out of business by 2017, buying the title, etc. etc. It's not been uploaded yet, don't reckon it will, you can't slag the scum off in a national newspaper can you?

At least with Tevez that £32 million won't be reinvested in making another team stronger, it goes out of football so to speak..

I can 100% state that Tevez and his advisors had dinner at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi last night, so negotiations are clearly at an advanced stage as Hughes, Cook et al are also over here.

good man Dubai, sounds promising.

How many teams fly potential signings, private jet I guess, over to a palace to meet a king (sheikh) to discuss transfer terms. That's got to have some pulling power..........

Rhetorical question I know.

Let's hope it's true, Dubai Blue; but even if it is (and I'm not doubting you) they may just be comparing offers with the rag and dipper ones. It would set the summer bandwagon rolling though, if we sign him soon, and send a real message out to the rest of the football world that City mean business.

And to think where we were 10 years ago....

Tevez is fighting for his place in Argentina squad, if he joins pool he will sit on the bench if he comes to us he will play every week. He was a good player at West Ham, he has been a good player at the Rags, he will be a good player with us. Tevez and Bellamy will defend from the front, SWP will defend, Superman has proved this season capable of defending all over the pitch. As for Barry he will plug the left side midfield gap allowing Robbie to play with complete freedom, in my opinion he will be the cover for Bridge, he is also capable of delivering a good dead ball either corner or free kick, in away games I can see with him, De Jong and Kompany forming a three man defensive curtain in front of back four especially when we are away to the big four. MH's has this season to turn our side into a top 6 club if we only sign these two players I reckon we will acheive that.

It's definitely true. A guy my mate works with was at the next table. He didn't even know my mate was a City fan, so no reason for a wind up. (Just to clear something up; The Emirates Palace is actually a luxurious 5* hotel, not a palace)

I tend to agree with Rosler's Dad. The fact that he was there just confirms once and for all that we are definitely in for him and are pulling out all the stops to sign him up. He'd be foolish not to at least meet with us and hear what we've got to say, but it doesn't necessarily mean that he's gonna sign.
