Very Good piece and, as time goes by, always worth remembering the way it was supporting City during 80s (and on to recent times). I'm slightly older than the writer but those feelings are the same.

My generation were born with City at their peak, but we endured the Swales (and his supporting directors) madcap decisions that limited the Club's ambitions.

Why City? Because we always hoped that one day our loyalty would be repaid.
