I'm Unsure about this bud... I mean WTF does it have to do with Football, or City?

The lyrics according to Noel were about what his Aunt? Used to say to him after he misbehaved, and had to stand at the fireplace from memory, some interview I watched 20yrs ago.

Yes it's an anthem, stands good in stadium, but for me, even though some Crewe Alexander fans will disagree, Blue Moon is our anthem.

The part of "you saw me standing alone"

Is personal to me as being at school in the 90's %99 of the kids were all Rag bastards, so I would often look at the moon, know I wasn't alone, and to stick by my club.
No matter how much abuse I'd get, fights etc etc...
 
It is something that I always loved.....being a Manc and NOT supporting them red ****s.

bluemoon will always be the number 1 song for all city fans and am not saying otherwise

it will be a mark of respect to show we are from manchester and never forget
yes football got nothing to do with what happened on that night but the people of manchester have and fans of music and football would have been at that concert. maybe on the 22 min of the first game we sing it together then after that just let the fans decide when to sing it at games i have a feeling it will take off with man city fans with the oasis side of manchester being blues and the last line (I heard you say) is a show stopper its so manc
 
Aye, I guess that would be a nice mark of remembrance, singing DLBIA at the 22nd min during matches.

Rather sing that than Ariana Grande's "So, baby, come light me up, and maybe I'll let you on it
