This is new to me. The first time I have watched and seen a great City team being formed and than coming to its end. What a ten years it's been. I was only around 10 or 11 when the Lee, Bell, Summerbee team came to an end. This time the Club is in such a better position to deal with this.

City signed Aguero, Silva, Yaya, Zabba, Kompany, the backbone of the last 10 years. Sorry if I missed out someone.

Every summer we had the papers saying Sergio is off to who ever, but no he stayed like most and gave the best of their careers to City.

To see the last of that great City team leave is sad and I include Fernandinho in this. These players have helped City become a powerhouse within football. These players have stayed at City despite the British press/media ignoring them for player of the year or in the team of the year. That shows the type of people City employ, not self centred glory hunters, but people who can see what City are about.
These players have helped City attract other top players and build for the future. They have shown what a wonderful well run, caring club City is.

On a personal note I was going thought a shitty divorce, than a few years later meet my soulmate. The first thing I did was make her watch the City v QPR. She doesnt watch football. I said to her to understand me we have to watch this match, to understand what City and Manchester means my family and me. We watched it, I burst into tears as we get the Aguerooooooooo moment. So did she lol.
She got it ! She wrote to City and told them about how life had been shit for the last 3 years for me. Told them me being a proud manc and could City do something for me.
I got a signed Sergio picture :).
And my missus comes to matches now lol.
What a great club.

I never thought I would see one great City team in my life time, but as this one comes to an end this new City team is just beginning with great young talented players . Its something we all dreamed of, my dad saw the Aguerooooooooo but didnt see the Centurion's, my dad didnt like my 93:20 tattoo lol.
But like my late dad I carry on with the thought yet even beening 3 nil up with 2 minutes to go this could all go tits up lol, much to my lads amusement.

This is another of my rambles trying to say how great it is to be a Citizen, what great owners we have. And I feel so privileged and proud that those players choose City to give their best of their careers to us.

We are so lucky.

Our recruitment has been pretty successful in recent years. Ever single one of our players who pulls on the Sky Blue shirt puts a shift in for the team, and we are greater than the sum of the parts as a result.

I don't think there has been a recent departure who has bad-mouthed the club since they've left.

Yes that was a good team that Book built, but in terms of winning silver. City have had good teams since Lee, Bell and Summerbee time, but not a patch on this one ;)

Mustn’t underestimate Books team, got in Europe nearly every season, runners up in League and won League Cup

I think this is one of the most powerful factors of our club, that rival fans might disagree or disparage at. Some way somehow, internally we treat our players very well, that most, if not all of them, feel rightly comfortable at the club and committed to the cause. Even Sane, Brahim Diaz, etc. never had a bad word to say about our club and staff.

I was lucky enough to go to school on the border of Moss Side / Whalley Range and every so often would wag it and go and watch the blues train up close at Platt Lane.
I started going to games properly just as Allison came and tore apart a good team and after that didn't see too much success!
With Luton at home, West Ham away, Liverpool at home, and Stoke away I've seen a fair few lows!
After Millwall away (not because of it) I emigrated to Sydney and have been here since.
I travelled without a ticket to the QPR game and managed to get one with minutes to spare for more cash than I care to think especially with the state of the Aussie dollar.

Sergio gave me the salvation and exhilaration in that one moment that two minutes earlier was unattainable.

The pain of away days at the Swamp, the Baseball Ground, Reading, Stockport, Oldham and Macc all gone in that one instant.

Swales banished from the memory.

And for that Sergio I will thank you to the end of days. We shall not see your like again.

Agree with your sentiment but Yaya badmouthed Pep, don't forget.

With posts like that it is no wonder you have a high like to post ratio. Keep it going mate and be positive, it is easier to say than do but if you can it makes life better.

Ah well yeah you're right, but I think Yaya still has alot of good things to say of our club in general.

I compare this to what Camelgob said during his final year with the Rags. Camelgob said no one in the club talked to him, whether it's about extending his contract, or whether they are releasing him, no conference, no discussion nada. And he is one of their supposed legend. Also the way Barca treated Suarez.

I think for the most part we treat our players really well, legend or not, and I'm really proud of it.

Very few non-city fans are aware of this, I am nearly 50 and don’t remember it. We were as good as Liverpool then and better than the rags, we had big crowds and could afford big transfer fees. There would be none of this small club no history nonsense, thanks to our takeover we are now reclaiming lost glory and our position as a big name English club.

That was a belting team. What Allison (aided and abetted by Swales) did to that side was nothing short of criminal. And we never really recovered until HRH rocked up at the Emptihad.

I've just realised that not only will Aguero be the last to leave of that 11/12 side but if Fernandinho leaves at the end of the season which looks very likely, there will be no one left from the 13/14 title winning side either.

Once those two have gone, everyone at the club will be a Guardiola signing apart from Sterling and De Bruyne who he apparently handpicked whilst he was still at Bayern. By the start of next season, Pep will have completely overhauled the squad he inherited and rebuilt it in his own image.

Two landmark issues in the mid 70s, Colins injury, without this I’m convinced we’d have taken League titles and a few more cups. Second was as you said hitting good crowds just started to av. 40k at home.
Club got too big for Swales if only he’d cashed in and sold us off, instead brought Allison back (al be it we were on a shit run), then he attempted half cocked plans at redevelopment starting with that fukin new roof on the Main Stand
