I'm not massively up on Scottish football. Why were the Jambos so confident of an easy passage to the QF?

i think becasue they thought they would sail past st johnstone and then past either falkirk or partick thistle. tbh they have been doing well of late and putting pressure on the old firm so i suppose they thought it was a dead cert. how wrong they were

Even though they're in the same league, the difference between clubs like Hearts and those like St Johnstone is like the difference between teams in the Prem and teams in League Two, and that's not mentioning the gap in quality between the Old Firm and those on Hearts' level. While the Old Firm talk about beating any team, Hearts and such still view the teams in the bottom 6 as essentially walkovers.

That's my understanding, anyway. Not a Scotsman here.

That's not really true, Hearts are having a good season, and are obviously better than the bottom 6, and perhaps they have a sense of superiority (so the part about viewing them as walkovers, maybe), but the reality is, normally they regularly drop plenty of points against bottom 6 sides, hence why they never end up challenging the Old firm.

Nothing, and City fans are better educated in this than most, bites yer arse as often as footy, and nothing bites yer arse when yer least expecting it as footy does. Never count yer chickens!

By the way, how do we get to Notts County?

And someone explain 'queenhawk', please!

At least those fans were positive! Nothing wrong with that.

There's at least one topic on here saying we'll be knocked out of the FA Cup next week.

Very funny :)

To varying degrees footballs unpredictable, always was, is and will be!
