This sums up Liverpool FC perfectly

This post is just claptrap!
A better phrase to sum up LFC would be deluded twunts

You cant deny their past success but quite simply their time has gone. Just like the church. They should have tried to capitalize on their success by tapping into their rapidly disappearing world appeal when Stretford did 30 years ago. Instead they cling onto this religious notion when everyone knows that the only way to compete in football these days is with hard cash

They are no more a religion than any other club. As I said before deluded twunts!

It´s a very readable article but it is from a Chelski forum so you´d expect the slant. All clubs followings manifest their support in ways akin to worshipping - we´ve all called players like Bell, Francis and Elano "God" so that kind of symbolism is neither new nor is it the sole monopoly of our red scouse bretheren. However there are relevent points , particularly the self pity card and the "iistreee" tag , but even "history" gets thrown in our faces from those of a rag persuasion, so it´s generalising to tar Pool fans with that particular brush. Yes there has also been a preponderance of ex- red scouse players plying their trade as pundits but that is because they come from that generation of unbridled success. Just think , as we hear of Ratface succumbing to Sky´s advances , the next army of TV self righteousness come could come from no other than Giggs, Scholes and probably the inane rantings of a certain Gallic prophet. A very sobering thought indeed.
The other day I was watching a football debate about the Torres deal on GolTV in Spanish. One of the panel was an English journalist who explained that Scousers like to think they are a breed apart, independent minded, millitant, outsiders, rebellious but that in reality they display the traits of the architypal "inverted snob" The other Spanish panel members were incredulous at this suggestion which goes to show what they really understand about British society. I think he was spot on and that it´s more this , than the sanctimoniously religious connotation (albeit the scousers do take it to extreme creating deities etc) which defines their attitudes in a more general sense. Football is but one (although very important) manifestation of this

I think Liverpool are different from any other club. I believe that it is only a matter of time before the great revival begins. There will be a great storm waged upon the premier league of an unseen magnitude. It's written in the stars.

...and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord (Dalglish) in the air.
