I feel for Tim Ream... Americans are judged more harshly and without context when it comes to their performances abroad and coming in to that team, at this time, might ruin what could have been a good career.

I didn't think he was that good for the U.S./NY tbh

I follow RBNY a bit since my cousin moved there and became a supporter. Ream has potential, and I think he'll develop a bit later than usual now that he is playing with more challenge and is afforded a higher level of training. As far as the US team, in that same age range, I have watched Spector for Birmingham and Chandler for Nurnberg and I would never see them sustaining a first eleven position in a top division middle-high table club.

I probably should look more at the younger generation developing in America, though, as from what I hear football is really taking root and US may be a force in 10-15 years.

Watching the U16's tournament recently I was wondering about where a lot of the kids from our youth National teams were playing and I started doing some investigating. It turns out all but like 2 or 3 of our kids are playing abroad. Holland, Germany, England. This has been a huge shift from previous generations. It used to be pretty much nothing but club level here in the states, but now you see a lot of kids opting to train in Europe over signing MLS development contracts which basically locks them into the United States. Dempsey had a hell of a time getting over to Europe at first because the MLS as a whole holds contracts instead of individual teams. That way whoever has real talent, they can keep in the MLS. We even had our first 10 year old signed to La Masia in April. That's what we have needed for our national team I think. The MLS is fine, but if we ever want to compete our kids need the high level of training you can only get in Europe.

Clueless losing again.
Hughes has been gone for over two years. Time to move on.

I don't hate Hughes cos of his time here. I have ALWAYS hated the man. So I will continue to revel in his shortcomings as a manager because the man is the worlds biggest myth when it comes to being a manager. The press make him out to be some sort of amazing manager but he really isn't. Look at the players he has at QPR. No way should they be in a relegation battle but Hughes is certainly doing his best to get them in one. Clueless by name clueless by nature.

I have to agree with all of this.

Re: This Weekend's Games

Been watching the barcodes - wolves game. Wolves are running around like men possessed, chasing everything but they just don't have the technique to control and keep hold of the ball at the tempo they're playing at. Barcodes have just picked them off for the goals.

Sad really that people are so obsessed by him. Ball was a far more catastrophic appointment for us than Hughes, yet he only gets a fraction of the abuse. Bizarre.

Re: This Weekend's Games

does Luiz have more Chelsea goals than Torres? It must be close
