Wonder if all the Chelsea fans are moaning about mourinho.
I'm not. We played decently, cutting them open repeatedly in the first half and remained in control. Our finishing was just not there today, nothing was coming off. Then we conceded a really cheap goal at half time and dominated a team playing possession football at their own ground when we went all in. On another day we'd have won.

But we didn't take our chances and Everton did, they also defended magnificently and deserve every point. It's just a shame that you and United got quite lucky today and nothing came off for us! Hopefully they'll take points off the rest of you later on.
I watched the game and agree with you.

But you have to be concerned with your finishing. Not a good game from Eto'o, or Torres. But Eto'o still looked quick. Perhaps not as quick as he was

I thought Gaz Baz was very lucky not to get booked. Repeated late fouls.

You can say City were lucky, but we had an entire first choice back 4 out, and Hart made those saves. It's not luck when a keeper makes a good save, its good goal-keeping

He can and I will too, we were outplayed by fucking Stoke, of course we were lucky to get a point.

I wouldn't dismiss your striking issues

We all know Torres is not up to it. So is Eto'o going to be the answer?

City are playing as poorly as I can remember, but there are reasons for that and at least we are still in touch. We have to hope that we have had our bad patch. We've certainly had a difficult time with injuries with a lot of injuries being concentrated in one area which is very disruptive and would challenge any squad
Eto'o hasn't played in almost a month and he was getting on the end of chance after chance and taking shots. He was clearly very rusty, but I was happy with his performance today even though he was off. Torres never gets on the end of those chances or even into good positions. If he consistently takes as many shots as he did today, he's going to score a lot of goals. I'm not saying we have a great strike force. It's still a problem for us, but I think Eto'o will be an acceptable patch for this season if he continues getting on the end of these chances. He'll shake the rust off.

While we're all level on points, we've played United and Everton away. We could have done better, but City should have done better. So I'm feeling disappointed but optimistic. If United or City were on 12 I'd be more concerned.

Re: This weekends other games

Tell you what, they may have lost, but Chelsea played a lot better than we did today. Moved it forward with purpose, looked far more like winning than we did at any point against Stoke. We may all be on level points, but we look the furthest off the pace.

At this present moment in time united and Chelsea look much better than us.

Re: This weekends other games

Surely Atkinson will never referee a game again after that?

Quite simply the worst refereeing decision I have seen

Never mind the disallowed goal. How did he come to the conclusion of just booking Sagna?

Got fooled by Johnson's dive too.

Ozil looked good, Walcott is wank.

Re: This weekends other games

Watching MOTD and can't believe that Sunderland had a goal disallowed & the Arsenal player stayed on the pitch, the Arsenal goal at the end looked offside to me but was 't discussed?

For me Atkinson had two choices. Allow the goal or send off the player.

He really fucked it up

Re: This weekends other games

Arsenal and Chelsea have been very fortunate with ref decisions so far this season. That should have been 2-2 and who would have known what the outcome could have been

This, how can it not be a goal scoring opportunity if he scores

Re: This weekends other games

Just seen the atkinson decision, shockingly bad. Id want him sacked from refereeing in the prem for good if i was Di Canio.

Considering the spirit of Bale's diving is being carried on by Townsend and Walker, think you are a bit lucky to get some of your decisions this season or is only luck when it's a rival and earned when it's your team ? Soldado penalty on matchday 1 was more ball to hand than other way yet you got the decision

Both were penalties, and we didn't get a penalty last season, Bale was booked several times for diving. Arsenal were very fortunate to get away with that one, it's not up for discussion really

Walcott is class... Can't beleive the stick he gets, scored and assisted loads last season, 2 good saves denied him getting on the scoresheet today - glad he ignores the critics and keeps playing with pace and purpose as he always does.

Re: This weekends other games

Walcott missed a few good chances and his finishing so far this season hasn't been great but I don't think it'll take too long to get him back on form with Ozil feeding him chances.

You all right bro?
The penalty that Townsend won in your second game? That was a dive all day long. "It's not up for discussion"

and how can people still defend Walcott?
He is just a fast runner with average football abilities.

It tends to be the way with a lot of them type of footballers, run fast but don't offer much else. Kyle Walker springs to mind half the time for quite a while now!

The only reason united won was cuz of the gifted 2 calls simple as that. they DID NOTHING attacking wise looked lethargic pathetic in attack (even worse then kun/neg combo) 0 midfield and only hoofing balls into the box (stokish football).

Re: This weekends other games

United look better than no one and still seemed to get all the luck and are gifted with calls, Young should have been sent off with another yellow as well.
