I'm thinking along the lines of city.

Someone mentioned it on here not long ago though, and again was very true. They often look shit against shit opposition, but they still more often than not squeeze out the win. Then they really turn it on against the good opposition and often win those games too, not looking an ounce like the side that barely got past Villa/Sunderland/Etc the week before. It's just pacing yourself for the marathon, not the sprint.

This scenario keeps repeating itself and it has nothing to do with luck. As soon as they're backs are against the wall the level of intensity in their play is raised tenfold and they chase down everything until eventually the opposition wilt. They've done it for years and most teams know it and can't deal with it physically and as importantly mentally.

Sad but true.
