Not sure why a minutes silence would be appropriate. It's not an anniversary.

i think the occasion will get to the dippers today, reminds me too much of the 50th aniversary of Munich at the swamp, to may distractions that to be fair you can understand and no doubt this will have an affect on the performance.
Hopefully i am wrong and it will drive the dippers to a great performace.
